1. Reflect on how it felt to work on a creative endeavor without the use of

technology:

a. I usually use my phone to see what the finished product is in order to copy

each and every pixel but using a printed copy allowed me to work without

worry that my phone screen would turn off or I would click on something

by accident. It was also nice not being distracted by incoming notifications

that usually catch my eye when I am working.

2. Discuss any challenges or surprises that you encountered in your project:

a. I struggled actually finding some calm and peace that I usually find when I

am cross stitching. I usually listen to music or watch videos while I am

cross stitching to provide some form of simulation and added

entertainment. I was surprised how difficult this made the process, trying

to find some will to complete the project that is normally easy with other

entertainment going on.

3. Share your thoughts on the impact of the technology-free creativity experience

on your overall well being and creativity:

a. There is both a positive and negative to working technology-free. It was

nice being able to see the pattern on paper rather than on my small phone

screen but it still wasn't all the worth it considering that I enjoyed the

process less. Technology has made us as humans dependent on stimuli

like technology that distracts us from the actual calming experiences that a

project like this should bring. I think that I will continue to print out the
pictures to copy rather than using my phone but I will still listen to music or

watch videos at the same time to get the stimuli that I personally need.
