Assignment 2 : Project Scheduling

1. The project duration is 150 days. I make the Bar-Chart for the project planning in Excel. You can
check the file excel that I sent it to you.
2. In my opinion, the limitation of using Bar-Chart or Gant chart for project planning are :
 If the owner want to speed up the construction and the owner don’t care about the
budget to spend on the construction. So the project planning that we make by using
Bar-Chart or Gant Chart is useless. We need to re-work on bar chart or Gant chat or we
need to modify it again, it will take some time to do it.
 Bar chart is still bar chart. It is depend on the real progress or situation at site
construction such as weather, labor, material, technical and communication.
 If Bar-chart or Gant Chart is make or develop by new engineering that do not have
enough experience at site construction and understand the situation in the site it will be
have some errors, the new engineering maybe face the most challenging is to visualize
the activities that will happen in the site construction.
 If in the project have a lot of VO (variance order), it will be slow down the progress of
the project and all planning in the Gant chart will be need to move the deadline also.
 If we use bar chart for the big or complicated project, we may be face some trouble
because that maybe lack of information about the project. For example, in the bar chart
it will point the main activities that we need to complete so some activities that relate
to technical process or labor’s management. That also may affect the progress of the
project.
 Even the engineering that have enough experience in the construction, it also have
some errors and also need to take risk management.
 We still need to use S-Curve to tracking the progress in the site.
