I have learned a lot in all the lessons that was discussed, knowing how people
describe a person with disability before, how they have been treated differently.
Some of them were killed, abandoned in woods in ancient Period, during Spanish
period people with disabilities were drowned and burned, and they believed that they
were cursed. Different people and society have their own perspective of what people
with disabilities is. Thankfully, during the 1960’s and 1970’s the Civil rights
Movement began created even more favorable climate for people with disabilities
that give supports to all the adults and students with disabilities.

The Law 94-142 (education For All Children Act of 19975) that improves the
way students with disabilities were treated in the Schools setting. Developing and
improving things to use for people with disabilities are one step in making difference,
helping them to work and motivating them that they are greater than their disabilities.
Person with Autism has a developmental Brain disorder where some people believe
that they were not able to do something, but there is something that they can do
more than their disabilities. Studying the Behavioral and Emotional Disorder of a
student could affect the whole self of them when it come in learning when they were
in school. According to IDEA children with Behavior and Emotional Disorder have the
inability to explained by intellectual, sensory, and Health Factors, and interaction or
interpersonal relationship with their peers and even to the teachers, that’s why
helping and learning how we can contribute to the people with disabilities we can
make sustainable support for them, just like those people who have physical
disabilities we can support them and give accommodations where they can do
something and work independently.

Providing the students with effective strategies where they can learn best
even, they have intellectual disabilities when we gave them the proper
accommodations they can learn effectively. And that’s what I have realized and learn
in the whole journey of our discussion that reflecting how cruel and how people
treated them inhuman we can still make difference for us to have a better future,
because the persons disability doesn’t make them different, but we must be
accepting and has the humility for everyone, especially the people with special
needs.
