In a study conducted by Raut et. al.

( 2016), entitled

"Collection and Analysis of Used Lubricating Oil for

Recycling and Reuse”, results showed that most of the

samples collected were suitable for recycling and reuse

after proper treatment. However, some of the samples had

high levels of contaminants and acidity, which made them

unsuitable for reuse without proper treatment. The study

concludes that the collection and analysis of used

lubricating oils is essential to ensure their safe and eco-

friendly disposal, as well as their potential for reuse after

treatment.9 The previous study is related to the present

study as it has the same objective of ensuring proper

collection and disposal are observed to prevent detrimental

effect to the environment. However, the present study

differs from the previous study since it analyzes the oil’s

properties to identify its suitability for reuse even without the

proper treatment administered.
