In the beginning /

Ramallah is a Palestinian city, and the center of

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate. Located in
the West Bank, Ramallah currently occupies a
political center that makes it one of the most
important Palestinian cities, as it is considered
the temporary administrative capital of the
Palestinian National Authority. Ramallah is
located within the Jerusalem mountain range,
as it overlooks the Palestinian coast of the
Mediterranean Sea. To the east and south, it is
surrounded by mountains and is considered the
city. Historically a Christian region, today its
population is mostly Muslim, with a strong
Christian minority.
The city of Ramallah was founded in the sixteenth century by the
sheikh of one of the Christian Karak tribes, Rashid Haddadin, who
.left his native land to initiate tribal clashes

Blacksmiths bought what was known as Khirbet Ramallah and

resided in it. Then, he placed five lions in the middle of this ruin, a
.symbol of their sons

After a portion of the Palestinian beneficiaries fell under

occupation in 1948, Ramallah - like the rest of the cities in the West
Bank - joined the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, but in 1967 and
.completely under occupation

The Old City: The Old City includes many

monuments dating back to a number of
civilizations and eras that passed
through the city, such as the Franks and
.the Ottomans

1- Ibrahim Al-Khalil Shrine: This shrine

is located in the enter of the Old City.

A LARGE NUMBER OF ROMAN GRAVES
CARVED INTO THE ROCK, IN ADDITION TO
