Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition is crucial for effective communication, comprehension, and critical thinking, but
creating interactive and engaging activities that promote active learning can be challenging for teachers.
Recently, games have been developed to incorporate into teaching and learning strategies, such as the
Vocabulary Wheel game, a novel tool designed to improve vocabulary learning through interactive and
fun gameplay. The Vocabulary Wheel game fosters students' vocabulary development through immersive
and stimulating activities, prompting them to undertake a task related to the word after spinning the
wheel. Correct answers are awarded points that can be redeemed for rewards, incentivizing students to
engage in the vocabulary learning process and increasing their motivation to explore and learn new
words. The gamification of vocabulary acquisition encourages students to approach language learning in
a fun and interactive manner, leading to improved engagement and greater success in building their
vocabulary. Students have shown improvement in their vocabulary skills, including pronunciation,
spelling, and usage of words. The size of the wheel is suitable for students to bring anywhere and play in
pairs or groups. For future recommendations, making the wheel using online apps can allow students to
play the game remotely, extending its use beyond the classroom. In conclusion, the Vocabulary Wheel
game is an effective and enjoyable tool for improving vocabulary acquisition, encouraging students to
engage in the learning process, and enhancing their overall language skills.
