In the next three years (2024-2027), Geotina Elementary School aims to create a school

where the learners are at the center of effective learning environment, which highlights their future
success, empowering them to become confident, resident, reflective and autonomous promoting
effective decision-making in real-life situation.
The school beliefs that the literacy instructions must meet the learner’s literacy level, where the
foundation of learning, such as; phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, problem solving
and thinking processes to develop and foster, because engaging them in vigorous and relevant
learning opportunities will effectively open the door to shared knowledge.
Geotina Elementary School emphasizes a standard-based development of literacy skills in
curriculum and instruction that equip for the school children formation to become effective and
independent learners. Teaching literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening ad viewing will
empower our pupils to achieve their individual career as productive citizen in the 21st century.
The school endeavor literacy strategies, technologies and approaches in teaching-learning
process. Teacher use these to help pupils improve their reading skills with integration in different
learning areas. They target different skill sets areas of knowledge that involve namely vocabulary,
spelling ability, comprehension, critical analysis and language articulation. These literacy
instructions will present also in every catch-up Friday activities.
Teachers will promote approaches and strategies in classroom as encourage pupils to choose
their choice; story book that available in the classroom, this strategy can motivate pupils to develop
daily reading habits in outside and inside class. Offer reading rewards will motivate positive
association with reading. Teachers can offer prizes or reward to the whole class for accomplishing
reading. Play classroom games for instance, pupils play charades using plot points, characters or
vocabulary words from a text recently read in class. Drawing a visual image can also help pupils
recall more information about a book.
The school will also develop and implement a system where school children will extend and
enrich their literacy skills in different learning activities at home and in the community. The school
will continue to implement PROJECT-SHELTER, School Home Extended Learning Through
Expansion Reading. Related to these the learners will conduct home visitations, they also monitor the
reading corner at home of every learners. The participation of parents in making reading corner
contest is needed, and the winners will receive reward.
The school will conduct Out-Reach Program in community, the participation of parents,
guardians, community and stakeholders will be bringing responsibility for developing life-long
learners.
