Ánh - a student is fluctuating in choosing one of his favorite festivals to write a

paragraph. We should discuss and give him advice to wirte. What do you think?
- from my perspective, Senjin no hi is a good choice. It takes place in Japan
annually on the second Monday of January. This celebrate for boys and girls who
reach the age of 20. In this festival, the girls will wer kimino that is traditional
costume in Japan and the boys will wear a business suit or hakama. What’s your
opinion ?
Ánh – In my opinion, student can choose Saint Fermin for writing. It is celebrated
from the 6th to the 14th of July in the northwest of Spain. It is for all the people of
the region. Saint Fermin is their guide and protector. It began in about the 13th
century. The original event was a market every September. It was moved to July in
about 1591. The main event of the week is a procession through the streets with a
huge statue of the saint. Every day, there is music and dancing. There is also a race
between the local young men and six bulls. The men dress in red and white.
-… what do you think about Hung’ King temple festival ?
Ánh - Hung King’s Temple Festival of pride of Vietnamese people. This festival
takes place from the 8th to the 11th day of the third lunar month, in which the 10th
is the official festival in Phu Tho province. The festival is solemnly held with
traditional rituals and attracts many domestic and international tourists. The
festival has two parts, the ceremony and the festival. Folk games are also organized
such as wrestling, ferris wheel, rice cooking contests, chess games... Coming here,
people will be immersed in a solemn and respectful atmosphere.
- ….. from all of that, I think senjin no hi is the best choice for this student to write
a paragraph because he or she also must have a graduation festival, so knowing
more about it also helps student’s celebration later become more interesting.
