Track 9
B: Hello, my name’s Brad. Today on Sporteens, everything about summer activities.
G: At the beach, people typically play volleyball, go swimming or maybe try surng. But
there is a new activity many people want to try. It’s called yboarding.
A yboard is a tube connected to water jets that you can attach to your feet. The jets allow
a person to rise up out of the water or dive down under it. It takes a lot of balance to stay up
out of the water on a yboard. Flyboarders can look very acrobatic as they turn and change
directions in the air.
A Frenchman named Franky Zapata invented the yboard in 2011. Surng and waterskiing are
still more popular, but yboarding is the coolest and newest way to spend your beach vacation.
