TEXT: A CERTIFICATE AND A CAREER

End of the year… examinations.

What a stress!
Does it really have to be like that?
Exams are important.
You certainly need qualifications.
However, they are not “the end of the world”.
They will not measure your cleverness or your originality.
They will only measure a particular set of mental abilities that you are
supposed to have acquired and kept during a certain period of your
life.
So, relax, stay calm and follow these strategies.
They will certainly help you overcome your panic and make your life
easier.

BEFORE THE EXAM

Remember to get all your “exam kit”, that is: pencil, pen, rubber, and
glasses, if necessary.
Also, check the date, time and place where you will have to be.
Carry your timetable with you.

ONE DAY BEFORE THE EXAM

Try to relax doing something pleasant.
Eat your regular meals and sleep well the night before.
Have a good breakfast before the exam.

DURING THE EXAM

Spend at least ten minutes reading the exam and planning your work:
which questions you can answer immediately because you are
sure of the answers, which questions you will spend more time in,
which questions you will guess the answer to because you do not
know them at all.
Start from the answers you know.
Remember that examiners tend to be annoyed by bad handwriting and
bad presentation of your paper.
Try to hand in a clean and tidy paper.
