Overview

The Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics) - 2 years requires 2 years of full-time
study (or the equivalent part-time). The course specialisation is offered by the College of Business,
Government and Law.

The course articulates with the 18 unit Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, and the 36
unit Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and the sequentially developed topics enable
progression through the three awards.

Admission requirements

Admission requirements

Applicants must have one of the following:

Hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution

Have completed the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at Flinders University

However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions,
admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.

Aims

The course is designed to provide a strong foundation of business knowledge, skills and attitudes to
support ethical, global business management of organisations including private sector business

organisations, not-for-profit organisations and public organisations. Through experiential learning

techniques students will develop knowledge and skills to conduct independent research, carry out
industry and discipline related projects, and relate their learning to their individual business
experience.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course you will be able to:

1. Formulate solutions to complex business analytics problems

2. Critically appraise evidence to support decision making

3. Assess risks for strategic planning

4. Evaluate opportunities for change

5. Adopt contemporary leadership theory and practices to real life settings

6. Apply technical and business analytics knowledge and skills with creativity and initiative to

Program of study overview

To qualify for the Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics), a student must complete 72
units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study below.

Not all topics are necessarily available each year.

Upon completion of 18 or 36 units a student may choose to exit with a Graduate Certificate in
Business Administration or a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration respectively, subject to
meeting the program of study for that award.

1. This Program of Study serves as a suggested study plan. When core topics are offered in both
halves of the year, students may enrol in these topics in either half of the year as long as
requisites are met.

2. Throughout the course, students with permission of course coordinator/WIL coordinator can
swap one core topic for a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) topic. There are 7 options for the WIL
topic: BUSN9125, BUSN9125B, BUSN9126, BUSN9127, BUSN9127B , BUSN9128 or
BUSN9128B.

3. With approval from the Course Coordinator, students can elect to swap one core topic with
BUSN9154 Working in Australia if desired.

4. International students will be required to complete BUSN9154 Working in Australia prior to

enrolling in a Work Integrated Learning topic.
