1.Introduction
1.1 Background of the bethel computer center and service
Bethel Computer Center/BCC/ has been established 2009. The main office of BCC
located in Amhara Regional state North Shoa Zone Debre Birhan town Kebele 03
around Abdujebar
Considering the importance, developed a new service which is mainly Focused on
internet café, photo copy, binding and laminating, secretarial service, Computer
accessories, basic computer training and maintenance services.
1.2Visions
• By giving adequate service for customer to become one of the leading technology
service providers in the area and creating better community.

1.3 Mission
BCC has the following purpose.
• BCC provides communities with the ability to access the Internet, get different
services like copying, laminating, binding, secretarial service, and share internet
experiences in a comfortable environment.
• People of all ages and backgrounds will come to enjoy the unique, upscale,
educational, and innovative environment that BCC provides.
• BCC’s marketing will consistently build on this mission. Everything I do, from the
pricing structure for our services to the atmosphere we create, must be done with this
mission in mind. We cater to: downtown business people, traveling business people,
university students, and seniors. Our ambiance and our services are designed for this
clientele and our marketing efforts are focused on /capturing this market.

2 Activities during internship period
During internship I have perform several activities like computer maintenance both
software and hardware
Today, the use of computers is introduced in several trades to facilitate work, a
situation that requires knowing how to keep your work tool in good condition for as
long as possible.
As for a tool, a household appliance, or a car, it is necessary to do the regular
maintenance of the computer to avoid breakdowns and various problems.
2.1 Computer maintenance

computer maintenance is a particularly useful task for the proper functioning of any
computer equipment. However, its realization requires highly specialized skills and
abilities. For this reason, the best option available to you for successful computer
maintenance is to seek the services of a service provider in the field. Choosing this
alternative is necessary because entrusting computer maintenance to unqualified
personnel presents major risks, including:
 Bad configurations;
 Poor protection of company data;
 The risk of hacking or theft of sensitive company data;
 Performing incomplete updates;
 Unnecessary use of resources;
 Inappropriate use of software;
 Improper installation of protection programs.
2.1.1 Hardware maintenance

Under this section, I undertook a number of activities and assignment which were
hardware related.
- Hardware maintenance with dust removal will prevent hardware failures due to
overheating of components.

I looked at the various components of the system unit among which include CPU,
peripheral connectors, the heat sink, the different types of motherboards, the CMOS
battery, the SATA cables, the Hard disk drive, the power supply unit, RAM chips and
the fan. I also went ahead to disassemble the system unit components and put back
and checked whether it was able to function or operate. I was able to work out the
different troubleshooting techniques on non-functioning computers due to the missing
OS, RAM or HDD. I was able to tell all these simply by hearing the beeping sounds,
the sound produced by the fans, the screen displayed. Issues about inability of the
computer to auto-reset time was mainly due to a fault in the CMOS battery so the way
was to have it replaced for such problem to be solved.
2.1.2 Software maintenance

- The software maintenance will aim to maintain the optimal performance of your
computer, to close security vulnerabilities, and fix bugs.

3. Challenges during my internship period
As an internship student, I faced a lot challenges mainly the current security issue in
Debre Birhan. This creates a stressful and potentially dangerous environment, making
it difficult to focus on my assigned work. Moreover, there is a lockdown for two
weeks due to this conflict. That makes it impossible to leave or travel to my internship
company.
Due to this conflict, there is a shutdown of internet access in the region. I was unable
to communicate with my colleagues or access important information about my
internship tasks. This makes it difficult to complete my internship and stay connected
with my classmates.
In addition to this challenges, shortage of time is another major challenge. With
numerous tasks to complete and declines to meet, it was difficult to manage my time
effectively and stay on the truck.
Overall, these challenges can be daunting for internship student, but with resilience,
creativity, and willingness to adapt, I came over them and make the most of my
internship experience.

4 Overall benefit of the internship

4.1 Improving Practical Skill
Internship program is very essential in terms of improving our practical skill, because
most of us were simply familiarized with theoretical knowledge. Therefore, internship
program enable us to correlate the theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
4.2 Improving team playing skill

The most important point in team playing skill is just reaching an agreement from
different points of view on the work to be done.
4.3 Improving interpersonal communication skill

To do activities and works alone in the plant is a difficult task. Therefore, by good
communication among the different sections in the plant have got a wide knowledge.
In the plant, working with any technician and by asking open ended questions and
listening effectively to the answers I have got a lot of knowledge.
4.4 Improving or upgrading theoretical knowledge

We learnt a lot of things in the class theoretically; we know many knowledge full
activities while we saw things practically. Therefore, internship program is not only
used to improve our practical skill, but also used to improve our theoretical
knowledge and the practical
skill knowledge.
4.5Understanding about work ethics and related issues.
Work ethics are generally accepted guidelines for right and wrong behaviors in work
place.
The following principles allow good work ethics in working area. punctuality,
honesty, initiative, loyalty and maximizing productivity.

❖ I observed that group work was better than individual work
❖ I learned that there is no need of playing during work
❖ Saving money and time was must within the work ethics
❖ I observed safety was first for work
❖ How to be punctual for the future
❖ Being responsibility for a future

4.6 Entrepreneurship skill

Entrepreneur is very important for the growth of economy. While I was in the plant, I
have got wide knowledge in the entrepreneurship skill that I should have to find by
myself as am learned and creative person by analyzing work opportunities and
employee.
The major characteristic of entrepreneurship that I have seen in the plant includes the
following.
✓ A self-confident multi- skilled
✓ Innovative skills
✓ Results oriented
✓ A risk taker
✓ Total commitment
Finally, to cope with this changing nature of work students must be enterprising and
flexible and may need to become entrepreneurial

5. Conclusion and recommendation
5.1.1 Conclusion
As conclusion I have focused on bethel Computer center during my internship
periods. The company has its own vision and mission. Because of fast technology
advancement computer and other related issues demand is increased time to
time. BCC works 12 hour per day during internship period I have observed so
many professional activities and learn as well. This internship was very fruitful
to me because I had k new how to work with work partner

5.1.2 Recommendation
Because of fast technology advancement computer and other related issues demand is
increased time to time, this may create a good opportunity for those engaged in this
business. The current growth of the town another opportunity for BCC
I suggest BCC is facing shortage of workers because there are many clients, if you
add more workers, this way you can meet the needs of the clients
