Story
The Musical Donkey
1. Once upon a time, there lived a washerman who had a thin donkey.
2. His donkey used to carry loads of clothes for him.
3. The washerman did not feed his donkey properly.
4. So the donkey went to the fields nearby and ate the cucumbers.
5. One night, the donkey met a jackal and they became friends.
6. Thereafter, they both went to the cucumber field and ate together.
7. Once the donkey’s stomach got full, he started to sing out of joy.
8. The jackal warned the donkey not to sing. But he did not listen to the
jackal.
9. So the jackal ran away from the field.
10. On hearing the donkey singing, the guard woke up and beat the
donkey.
11. The donkey felt sorry for not listening to the jackal.
