The abstract summarizes a study that tested the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of black ginger (Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb.) using the DPPH method. Black ginger was extracted via maceration in 70% ethanol and its ability to scavenge DPPH radicals was measured spectrophotometrically and compared to ascorbic acid. The extract showed weak antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 888.5197±0.337 μg/mL. The purpose was to determine the IC50 value of black ginger ethanol extract using the DPPH radical scavenging assay.

ELIS, 2022. Activity Test of Black Encounter Ethanol Extract Antioxidant
(Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb.) By DPPH Method (Guided by: Tahirah Hasan and Nur Alim)
The antioxidant activity of black-encounter ethanol extract
(Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb.) with the DPPH method has been conducted. Black matter was identified as containing secondary metabolite compounds that act as antioxidants. The purpose of this research was to determine the IC50 value of black-found ethanol extract (Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb.) by the DPPH method. Research methods include macerationary extraction using 70% ethanol-releasing fluid and testing antioxidant activity with the DPPH method. Testing the antioxidant activity of black-found ethanol extract using a visible spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 515 nm with an ascorbic acid comparison. The results of the analysis showed that the antioxidant activity of black-found ethanol extract (Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb.) had an IC50 value of 888.5197±0.337 μg/mL which is categorized as weak antioxidants.
