Thank you for giving me the opportunity to present on this occasion
Let me introduce myself first,My name is Hanifah Fauziah, I am from class
03SIGK001

Ladies and gentlemen, before the presentation, I will give you some interesting facts

about England :

1. Athelstan was the first king of the of the Anglo-Saxons to rule over England.

2. England is one of the countries with the oldest constitutional monarchy in the

world. and Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning British monarch in history.

3. William Shakespeare is said to have added more than 1700 words to English.

Pada kesempatan kali ini saya mengambil sumber dari buku English Literature from
the old period Through The Renaissance yang ditulis oleh J.E Luebering dan
dipublikasi oleh Britannica Educational Publishing in Association with Rosen pada
tahun 2011.

Buku ini menyajikan sejarah karya sastra inggris di beberapa periode, diantaranya :

1. The Old English Period


2. The Middle English Period
3. The Renaissane Period (1550-1660)
4. The Elizabethan & Early Stuart Drama
The Middle English period was a time of significant cultural, linguistic, and literary
transformation in England, characterized by the emergence of a variety of literary
genres and styles.Middle English literature encompasses a variety of genres, including
epic poetry, romance, allegory, drama, and religious texts. The literature of this era
often explores themes of chivalry, courtly love, religious devotion, and human
experience, reflecting the social and cultural influences of the time. The evolution of
the English language during the Middle English period had a significant impact on the
development of literature, leading to the emergence of Middle English as a distinct
literary language.

On this occasion I will present the famous literary work, namely, "The Canterbury
Tales," by Geoffrey Chaucer. But before that I will give you several famous writers of
the medieval period and their works

Yang ketiga ada


Written in Middle English by Geoffrey Chaucer at the end of the 14th century, The
Canterbury Tales tells the story of a group of 31 pilgrims who meet while travelling
from the Tabard Inn in Southwark to the shrine of St Thomas Becket in Canterbury.
To pass the time on the journey, they decide to each tell two tales to the assembled
company on the journey there and the journey home.
