TITLE:

UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES

AIM:

The research aims to find if universal design elements are used in different educational institutes.to
help differently abled people, student using it.

OBJECTIVE –

The main objective of the research is to -

1. Learn the concept of universal design.

2. Understand the need for provisions required for the differently-abled people.

3. To find out if these elements are incorporated in different educational institutes in pune.

SCOPE –

Number of new institutes are being constructed daily and number keeps on increasing every day.

Everyday new projects are developed, with more facilities and open spaces. And these institutes are

future of our cities and we must design the institute in such way that every person should be able to

get access. Thus, providing universal design for all such institutes is very important and should be

brought into consideration.

LIMITATIONS:

1.This paper is limited for only educational institute

2. Universal design covers a wide range of differently-abled people, but this paper focuses on

physical, and sensory disabilities and age-friendly spaces only.

MEATHODOLOGY:

1. Considering a few Samples People, the survey will be performed with the help of an online

Questionnaire.

2. Talking to Expert guides will help understand the concept and design strategies for Universal

design. Through study of the principles and elements of Universal design will help in

identifying these elements, in existing institutes.
