ANNUNCIATOR CONTROL PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ASSY TEST PROCEDURES
This section defines the procedures necessary to test the 130-364048 printed circuit board assemblies.

INITIAL SETUP

POWER SOURCE

a. Connect the (+) terminal of a 28 vdc source to pin 1.

b. Connect (-) terminal (ground) to pin 5.

WARNING LIGHTS

a. Connect a 30 ohm resistor in parallel with a 28V indicator light between a 28 vdc source and pin 12.

b. Connect the collector of a 2N3055 transistor to pin 12.

c. Connect the base to pin 13.

d. Connect the emitter to ground.

e. The “Warning” indicator light shall illuminate.

CAUTION LIGHTS

a. Connect a 30 ohm resistor in parallel with a 28V indicator light between a 28 vdc source and pin 44.

b. Connect the collector of a 2N3055 transistor to pin 44.

c. Connect the base to pin 13.

d. Connect the emitter to ground.

e. The “Caution” indicator light shall illuminate.

ADVISORY LIGHTS

a. Connect a 30 ohm resistor in parallel with a 28V indicator light between a 28 vdc source and pin 47.

b. Connect the collector of a 2N3055 transistor to pin 47.

c. Connect the base to pin 46.

d. Connect the emitter to ground.

e. The “Advisory” indicator light shall illuminate.

LEFT GENERATOR OUT LIGHT

a. Connect two No. 327 lamps in parallel between pins 7 and 44.

b. The “Left Generator Out” indicator light shall illuminate.

RIGHT GENERATOR OUT LIGHT

a. Connect two No. 327 lamps in parallel between pins 6 and 44.

b. The “Right Generator Out” indicator light shall illuminate.

MASTER WARNING LIGHT

a. Connect four No. 327 lamps in parallel between 28 vdc source and pin 39.

b. The “Master Warning” indicator light shall not illuminate.

MASTER CAUTION LIGHT

a. Connect four No. 327 lamps in parallel between 28 vdc source and pin 37.

b. The “Master Caution” indicator light shall not illuminate.

MASTER WARNING LIGHT RESET

a. Connect the 28 vdc source through a closed switch to pin 28 to reset the circuit.

MASTER CAUTION LIGHT RESET

a. Connect the 28 vdc source through a closed switch to pin 41 to reset the circuit.

CABIN DOOR LIGHT

a. Connect two No. 327 lamps in parallel between pins 40 and 44.

b. The “Cabin Door” indicator light shall illuminate.

LIGHT SENSOR CIRCUIT

a. Connect a 500,000 ohm rheostat between pin 11 thru a switch to ground.

b. Adjust the rheostat to 500,000 ohms.

c. For the -5 assembly, close the switch to connect the rheostat to ground. For the -9, -11, -13, -15, -17, -19, -21,
-23, -25 and -27 assemblies, open the switch to disconnect the rheostat from ground.

VOLTAGE REGULATOR CIRCUIT

a. Apply 28 vdc to pin 1.

b. Voltage at pin 21 shall be 26 ± 1.0 vdc.

c. Voltage at pin 20 shall be 15 ± 0.5 vdc.

MASTER CAUTION FAULT SENSING CIRCUIT

MASTER CAUTION LIGHT TRIGGER

a. Apply a variable voltage source to pin 43.

b. Increase voltage until pin 38 switches to 14 vdc.

c. Voltage at pin 43 shall be 6 ± 1 vdc.

d. After pin 38 switches to 14 vdc, measure the time required for pin 36 to switch to 14 vdc; the time shall be 125
+100, -50 milliseconds.

e. The “Master Caution” indicator light shall illuminate and flash at 4 ± 1 Hz.

f. Remove voltage from pin 43.

g. Verify voltage at pin 36 remains at 14 vdc.

h. The “Master Caution” indicator light shall remain illuminated and flashing.

MASTER CAUTION LIGHT RESET

a. Remove voltage from pin 41.

b. The “Master Caution” indicator light shall extinguish.

c. Apply 28 vdc to pin 41; no changes shall occur.

MASTER WARNING FAULT SENSING CIRCUIT

MASTER WARNING LIGHT TRIGGER

a. Apply a variable voltage source to pin 17.

b. Increase voltage until pin 29 switches to 14 vdc.

c. Voltage at pin 17 shall be 6 ± 1 vdc.

d. After pin 29 switches to 14 vdc, measure the time required for pin 33 to switch to 14 vdc; the time shall be 125
+100, -50 milliseconds.

e. The “Master Warning” indicator light shall illuminate and flash.

f. Remove voltage from pin 17.

g. Voltage at pin 33 remains at 14 vdc.

h. The “Master Warning” indicator light shall remain illuminated and flashing.

MASTER WARNING LIGHT RESET

a. Remove voltage from pin 28.

b. The “Master Warning” indicator light shall extinguish.

c. Apply 28 vdc to pin 28; no change shall occur.

LEFT GENERATOR OUT CIRCUIT

a. Connect a variable voltage source to pin 4.

b. Increase voltage until the “Left Generator Out” indicator light extinguishes.

c. Voltage at pin 4 shall be 14 ± 3 volts.

d. Decrease voltage at pin 4.

e. The “Left Generator Out” indicator light shall illuminate.

RIGHT GENERATOR OUT CIRCUIT

a. Connect a variable voltage source to pin 3.

b. Increase voltage until the “Right Generator Out” indicator light extinguishes.

c. Voltage at pin 3 shall be 14 ± 3 volts.

d. Decrease voltage at pin 3.

e. The “Right Generator Out” indicator light shall illuminate.

LIGHT DIMMING CIRCUIT

a. Apply 28 vdc to pins 9 and 10.

b. Apply 28 vdc to pin 4.

c. Verify the “Left Generator Out” indicator light extinguishes.

d. Momentarily (1 second) apply 28 vdc to pins 17 and 43.

e. The “Master Warning” and “Master Caution” indicator lights shall illuminate.

f. Ground pin 31.

g. All lights shall stop flashing and remain illuminated.

h. For -5, -9, -13, -17, -21and -27 assemblies:

1. Voltage at pins 44 and 47 shall be 15.5 ± 2.5 vdc.

2. Voltage at pins 12, 37, 39 shall be 12 ± 2 vdc.

3. The “Master Warning”, “Master Caution”, “Warning”, “Caution”, 'Advisory” and “Cabin Door” indicator lights
shall be dim.

i. For -11, -15, -19, -23, -25 assemblies:

1. Voltage at pins 44 and 47 shall be 15.5 ± 2.5 vdc.

2. Voltage at pins 12 and 37 shall be 12 ± 2 vdc.

3. The “Master Caution”, “Warning”, “Caution”, 'Advisory” and “Cabin Door” indicator lights shall be dim. The
“Master Warning” indicator light shall be bright.

j. Remove voltage from pin 4.

k. The “Left Generator Out” indicator light shall illuminate.

l. Voltage on pins 39, 37, 44, 47 and 12 shall be 1.0 vdc maximum.

m. Apply 28 vdc to pin 3.

n. The “Right Generator Out” indicator light shall extinguish.

o. The “Master Caution”, “Master Warning”, “Warning”, “Caution”, “Advisory”, and “Cabin Door” indicator lights
shall return to the dim state.

p. Remove voltage from pin 9.

q. Verify indicator lights return to the bright state.

r. Apply 28 vdc to pin 9.

s. Verify the indicator lights dim.

t. Remove voltage from pin 10.

u. Verify indicator lights return to the bright state.

v. Apply 28 vdc to pin 10.

w. Verify indicator lights dim.

x. Apply 28 vdc to pin 8.

y. Verify indicator lights become bright.

z. Remove 28 vdc from pin 8.

aa. Verify indicator lights return to the dim state.

ab. For -5 assembly:

1. Adjust the rheostat connected to pin 11 for minimum resistance.

2. Verify the indicator lights return to the bright state.

3. Return the rheostat to the 500,000 ohm setting to dim the indicator lights.

ac. For the -9, -11, -23 and -27 assemblies:

1. Close 500,000 ohm circuit to ground.

2. Verify the indicator lights return to the b right state.

3. Open the 500,000 ohm circuit to dim the indictor lights.

ad. For -13, -15, -17, -19, -21and -25 assemblies:

1. Close the 500,000 ohm circuit to ground.

2. Adjust the rheostat connected to pin 11 for a minimum resistance and back to maximum resistance.

3. Verify the intensity of the indicator lights increases as the rheostat resistance decreases and decreases as
the rheostat resistance increases.

a) At 50k ohms, the voltage at pin 12 shall be 1.7± 0.5 VDC

b) At 500K ohms voltage at pin 12 shall be 9± 1 VDC.

4. Open the 500,000 ohm circuit to dim the indicator lights.

ae. Remove voltage from pin 3.

af. The “Right Generator Out” indicator light shall illuminate.

ag. The “Master Caution”, “Master Warning”, “Warning”, “Caution”, “Advisory”, and “Cabin Door” indicator lights
shall return to the bright state.

ah. Remove the ground from pin 31.

ai. Connect a jumper between pins 18 and 20.

aj. Verify indicator lights return to the dim state and are flashing.

CABIN DOOR LIGHT CIRCUIT

a. Ground pin 35.

b. The “Cabin Door” indicator light shall extinguish.

c. Remove ground from pin 35.

d. The “Cabin Door” indicator light shall illuminate.

e. Voltage at pin 40 shall be 25 ± 2.0 vdc.

ZERO POWER TEST

a. Remove voltage from pin 1.

b. The “Master Warning”, “Master Caution”, “Warning”, “Caution” and “Advisory” indicator lights shall illuminate in
a steady bright state.

c. All other lights shall extinguish.

d. Reapply voltage to pin 1.

e. All lights shall return to their previous condition.

INSPECTION
Inspection shall be to quality control standards. Make sure the boards and attached components, including terminals
and connectors are clean. Check for discolored or overheated components and make sure that the protective
conformal coating has been restored in any areas where components were replaced.
