Do's and Dont's
CHECK THE ALL VALVE BEFORE STARTING OF THE PUMP. ENSURE THAT VALVE IS
OPEN/CLOSE MODE AS PER REQUIREMENT.
USE FRESH WATER OR PERMEATE WATER FOR PREPARATION OF CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS.
PREPARE THE CHEMICAL SOLUTION AS GUIDED BY THE ENGINEER.
USE SAFETY EQUIPMENT’S (i.e. SAFETY BOOTS, FACE MASK, GOOGLES, GLOVES) WHILE
PREPARING THE CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS.
WASH YOUR EYES WITH FRESH WATER IN CASE ANY ITCHING APPEARS IN EYES WHILE
HANDLING CHEMICALS.
DURING CHEMICAL SOLUTION PREPARATION ENSURE THAT THE AVAILABILITY OF THE
FIRST AID BOX.
KEEP THE CHEMICALS AWAY FROM INCOMPATIBLE SUBSTANCES.
STORE THE CONSUMABLES AT DESIGNATED AREA WITH PROPER VENTILATION.
IN CASE OF ANY FAILURE PLEASE INFORM TO THE PLANT IN CHARGE IMMIDIATLY AND
INTIMATE THE SUPERVISOR.
CHECK THE LEVEL OF EACH TANK AT SCHEDULED FREQUENCY.
MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OF OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS, MAINTENANCE
ACTIVITIES.
ADHERE TO ESTABLISHED STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES TO ENSURE CONSISTENT
AND EFFECTIVE TREATMENT PROCESSES.
REGULARLY MONITOR AND MAINTA IN ALL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING PUMPS, VALVES,
AND FILTRATION SYSTEMS, TO ENSURE OPTIMAL FUNCTIONALITY.
MAINTAINED GOOD HOUSEKEEPING IN PLANT AREA.
PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO THE STP/ETP FACILITIES.
ENSURE THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE PLANT.
DON’Ts
DON'Ts
1. Continuously monitor the plant's performance, including flow rates, chemical dosing, and equipment status
to ensure optimal operation.
2. Regularly inspect and maintain equipment, such as pumps, blowers, and filters, to prevent breakdowns and
ensure longevity.
3. Implement strict safety protocols for plant operators to minimize the risk of accidents or exposure to
hazardous materials.
4. Comply with local, state, and federal regulations governing sewage treatment to avoid legal issues and
protect the environment.
5. Maintain detailed records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and effluent quality to track
performance and for regulatory compliance.
6. Use chemicals like disinfectants and coagulants according to recommended dosages and guidelines to
achieve effective treatment without overuse.
7. Provide ongoing training and education for plant operators to keep them informed about the latest
techniques and technologies in sewage treatment.
Don'ts:
1. Avoid overloading the treatment plant with excessive wastewater, as it can lead to inefficiency and poor
treatment results.
2. Prevent unauthorized discharges into the sewage system, as they can disrupt the treatment process and
cause environmental harm.
3. Don't neglect regular sampling and analysis of influent and effluent to assess the plant's performance and
ensure compliance.
4. Neglecting odour control measures can lead to complaints from nearby residents and negative public
perception.
5. Don't dispose of hazardous waste or chemicals into the sewer system, as it can harm treatment processes
and the environment.
6. Avoid neglecting the training and education of plant operators, as it can lead to errors in operation and
maintenance.
7. Be prepared for emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and have contingency plans in
place to minimize disruptions in treatment.
