LO1:

Initiating Phase and its importance to the success of a project

The act of choosing and allocating resources to different tasks over a set period of time is known as
resource scheduling, often known as resource allocation. These responsibilities, which include
operation, support, BAU, and administration, could or might not be project-related. Allocating
resources is typically easier said than done. Finding the best resource might be difficult if the
incorrect policies or processes are in place. One of the most important components in finishing a
high-end project effectively is the "project start". The initial phase of a project involves its
acknowledgement through a business case, prioritization based on requirements, and alignment with
the organization's goals. This is known as project initiation and approval. The project flow was then
put into motion via planning and governance. The project start phase is crucial since it involves
forming a project team and setting specific goals. In the absence of a productive project team and
well-defined goals, completing the essential activities within the project cycle becomes difficult.
One of the most important parts of the starting process is the project charter. (Nandini, 2022)
Planning Phase and its importance to the success of a project
Conventional wisdom is that planning and analysis are crucial, and that a project will succeed better
if it has planning. Investing time in these tasks will lower risk and improve project performance.
Luminus Education – Quality Assurance Department
Page 1 of 20 (Form approved by Pearson – November 2017)
The process of determining and establishing a project's requirement and workable alternatives,
evaluating its technical and financial viability, and creating a rough order-of-magnitude estimate of
the project's total cost is referred to as the "planning phase". The term "planning phase" designates
the stage of a project that precedes the investment stage. It encompasses the preparatory and
technical studies, feasibility testing, and obtaining permits and licenses that may be required for
project implementation. (Tim, 2023)
Executing Phase and its importance to the success of a project
Project execution is the stage of a project's life cycle during which all of the activities described in
the project plan are implemented and the real work is completed. This is where most of your
project's time and effort are invested. It comes from and is a consequence of project planning and
scheduling. The conventional wisdom holds that analysis and planning are essential, and that having
planning will improve a project's chances of success. Devoting time to these responsibilities will
reduce risk and enhance project efficiency. This suggests that project management technique
matters a lot. Your team and your goals are made public with the use of a project execution plan. By
developing a project execution plan, you will be able to outline your approach to managing project
deliverables, key performance indicators, potential roadblocks, and potential solutions. (Carl, 2023)
Monitoring and Controlling Phase and its importance to the success of a project
The monitoring and controlling phase of project management is a set of actions taken to ensure that
a project is completed effectively and with the fewest possible difficulties. In general, monitoring
comprises determining how effectively the project is moving toward its end objectives and ensuring
that nothing untoward occurs while it is still on track. Controlling comprises responding
appropriately in the event that problems emerge in order to minimize or eliminate delays in the
project's schedule. Finding a solution for the problem or risk, making a repair recommendation, and
submitting a change request for the new method or action are the steps in the corrective action
process. A project moves into the monitoring and controlling phase following the planning phase
and concurrently with the execution phase. (Travis Hartin , 2023)
Closing Phase and its importance to the success of a project
During the Close Project or Phase process, which is another one where they take center stage, the
Project Manager will be making sure that all project work is completed and that the project has
achieved its objectives, including work and objectives that were added along the way as a result of
.approved change requests. ((PMP), 2023)

Factors to be considered when compiling a project management plan (PMP)

)deliverables, quality, risk, communication and resources(

1. Outline business justification and stakeholder needs

Stakeholder needs are similar to business needs in a business analysis since they both collect and
explain information about the goals, strategies, objectives, and targets of the company as well as their
main concerns about their successes, difficulties, issues, risks, and problems. Unlike business needs,
stakeholder needs specify what a certain stakeholder or set of stakeholders needs to support the
company. The demands of the business are reflected in its needs. (They identify the requirements of
the stakeholder in order to support his personal objectives, participate in initiatives or play a role, but
all in the service of assisting the firm in realizing its business demands.) (By: Kupe Coppersmith and
Paul Mulvey and Kate McGoey and Updated: 03-26-2016 From The Book: Business Analysis For
Dummies et al., 2023)

2. List of requirements and project objectives

Luminus Education – Quality Assurance Department
Page 2 of 20 (Form approved by Pearson – November 2017)
The goals you intend to achieve by the end of the project are known as project objectives. Here,
deliverables and assets might be discussed together with more general objectives like increasing
productivity or motivation. You should have specific, attainable, time-bound, and quantifiable goals
for your project. Project objectives are an essential part of project management because without them,
you wouldn't have a method to monitor your performance or clearly communicate your goals before,
during, or after the project. Set objectives to help you assess the success of your project. They can also
be used to establish objectives before to the start of a project. Establishing well-defined objectives
facilitates the development of a project plan and garners support from higher-level executives and
stakeholders. (Nulab, 2023)

3. Project scope statement

The scope of the project, together with any underlying assumptions, project requirements, and
acceptance standards, are all detailed in an official document called a scope statement. In order to
accurately gauge the performance of your project, stakeholders and team members will primarily refer
to and utilize your project scope statement as a standard. The whole collection of objectives and
requirements required to complete a project is referred to as its "scope". The expression is often
employed in project management and consulting. By defining the project's scope precisely, managers
can calculate costs and the amount of time required to finish it. The term "scope" describes the total set
of goals and specifications required to finish a project. The phrase is frequently used in both consulting
and project management. Managers may estimate project expenses and completion time by carefully
outlining the project's scope. (Grant, 2023)

4. List of deliverables and estimated due dates

In essence, deliverables are the end results of project operations, which are generated by projects.
Depending on the project, project deliverables may differ in size and number. Stakeholders and the
project management team agree upon them at the project planning stage. Stated differently, all project
types have inputs and outputs. Stated otherwise, this represents the inputs—data, resources, etc.—and
the outputs—the deliverables—of the project. Deliverables help to make clear the goals of the project
and the steps required to achieve them. They are essential elements of the project management
procedure that enable stakeholders, clients, and project managers to recognize the team's advancement.
(Simplilearn, 2023)

5. Detailed project schedule

Project scheduling is a comprehensive process that outlines a project's phases, the work involved in
each phase, and any dependencies. In addition, it considers the skills and amount of resources required
for every task, as well as the schedule, checkpoints, and interdependencies among them. Deliverables
aid in defining the project's objectives and the actions necessary to meet them. They are crucial
components of the project management process that make it possible for clients, stakeholders, and
project managers to acknowledge the progress of the team. (Sir, 2023)

6. Risk assessment and management plan

A risk management plan describes possible risks to an organization and the safety measures that
employees should take to keep them within reasonable bounds. A firm will use a range of risk
management techniques to meet different hazards. Important stakeholders, such as senior management,
compliance officers, and department managers, may create a risk management strategy to handle high-
level and strategic issues. Alternatively, in a project management scenario, a project manager works in
tandem with the project team to build a risk management plan tailored to the particular dangers
associated with the project.(Mein, 2023)

7. Defined roles and responsibilities

Luminus Education – Quality Assurance Department

Page 3 of 20 (Form approved by Pearson – November 2017)
There are fundamental responsibilities assigned to each function. Understanding the meanings of terms
is essential when considering the importance of roles and obligations. Everyone will be able to work
efficiently if this is done. Every employee's understanding of their roles and responsibilities is crucial
to the efficient running of any company. If they know what is expected of them, they can complete
their jobs effectively.

8. Resource allocation
Resource scheduling, another name for resource allocation, is the process of determining and
allocating resources to various tasks over a predetermined period of time. These duties, which include
BAU, administration, support, and operation, may or may not be project-related. Most of the time,
allocating resources is easier said than done. If the right tools or procedures are not in place, it may be
challenging to identify the optimal resource.

9. Quality assurance (QA) plan

Quality assurance, often known as QA, is a methodical and anticipatory technique that businesses use
to make sure that their processes, services, and/or goods continuously meet or surpass set standards
and criteria. To guarantee peak performance and dependability, it entails a collection of procedures,
methods, and actions intended to stop, identify, and fix flaws, mistakes, or irregularities. It is
impossible to overstate the significance of quality assurance as it is essential to a company's ability to
succeed and satisfy these objectives. (Nguyen, 2023)
10. Communication plan

Planning communications organizes how information is sent to those who are significant to a
company. The strategy is a thorough blueprint that outlines the messages communicators want to
convey, who they want to tell it to, when they want to say it, and how. Marketing teams frequently use
this method to establish connections with both present and future customers. Giving clients and
stakeholders regular updates on a project may also be beneficial. Professionals may strategically
increase public awareness of particular issues and assess the communications' impact on their target
audiences by using communication planning. (Park, 2023)

Research method – Qualitative versus Quantitative techniques

Research methods are the strategies, processes or techniques utilized in the collection of data or
evidence for analysis in order to uncover new information or create better understanding of a topic.
There are different types of research methods which use different tools for data collection.
Qualitative Research:
The goal of naturalistic inquiry in qualitative research is to get a comprehensive knowledge of
social phenomena in their natural environments. It depends on people's own experiences as
meaning-makers in their daily lives and concentrates on the "why" of social phenomena rather than
the "what" of them. When studying human phenomena, qualitative researchers employ a variety of
methods of inquiry, such as ethnography, grounded theory, historical analysis, discourse analysis,
biography, case studies, and phenomenology, as opposed to logical and statistical processes.(JOme,
2023)

Luminus Education – Quality Assurance Department

Page 4 of 20 (Form approved by Pearson – November 2017)
Quantitative Research:
Utilizing quantitative research methodologies, events that impact a certain set of people—the
sample population—are observed. Diverse numerical data are gathered using a variety of techniques
in this kind of study, and the data are then statistically processed to aggregate, compare, or
demonstrate correlations between the data. In general, experiments, organized observations, and
surveys are examples of quantitative research methodologies. (Sreekumar, 2023)
Mixed Methods Research:
Research using mixed methods necessitates a deliberate blending of data collecting, data
processing, and evidence interpretation techniques. The term "mixed" is crucial because data
linkage, or integration at the right point in the research process, is a crucial component of the mixed
methods approach.4 Researchers can seek a more comprehensive understanding of their study
terrain by examining occurrences from many angles and via a variety of research lenses thanks to
purposeful data integration. For instance, quantifiable data were gathered to evaluate knowledge
change, degrees of decisional conflict, birth choices, and outcomes in a randomised controlled trial
(RCT) assessing a decision aid for women making decisions about delivery following cesarean
sections.5. To acquire understanding of women's decision-making experiences and the variables
affecting their decisions, qualitative story data were gathered. (cones, 2023)

What are the most important data collection tools in scientific research?
Interviews
A planned interaction in which one party asks questions and the other responds is called an
interview. The term "interview" often refers to a one-on-one discussion between the interviewer and
the interviewee. If conducted well, the interview gives the employer the opportunity to assess if a
candidate's qualifications, background, and personality match those of the position. Additionally, it
aids in the employer's evaluation of the applicant's likelihood of blending in with the company
culture.
Surveys
A survey is a technique for obtaining data from a sample of individuals by asking pertinent
questions with the goal of comprehending populations overall. For all parties involved in the
information economy, including corporations, the media, the government, and academia, surveys
offer an invaluable source of information and insights. The act of gathering information from a
predetermined group (such as current or future clients) in order to get insights into your goods,
services, or brand as a whole is known as survey research.

Introduction about the topic:

In the HR sector, corporate social responsibility, or CSR, has gained popularity recently. Businesses
should be morally and socially conscious in addition to being lucrative. The emphasis is now on
how corporations affect society and the environment in addition to their financial performance. This
essay will examine the value of corporate social responsibility and the efficient ways in which
companies may use it to make a difference. The concept of corporate social responsibility holds that
companies have an obligation to improve society and the environment. It involves more than just
turning a profit; it also involves stakeholder involvement, community outreach, sustainability,
charity, and ethical practices. (Laniyo, 2023)
The term "corporate social responsibility" (CSR) refers to an organization's social, environmental,
and economic contributions. Although the idea of companies operating ethically is not new, the
phrase "Corporate Social Responsibility" has gained increasing significance in the last few
years.Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to the long-term, sustainable benefits that
organizations that promote beneficial social, economic, and environmental impact may provide to
society. The first step in corporate social responsibility (CSR) is realizing that an organization's
actions affect not just its own personnel but also society, the environment, and the economy. It has
to do with the morals and principles that guide an organization's operations. (Lee, 2023)

human resource management: A Malaysian study)

Abstract

Purpose

This essay aims to examine the connection between green human resource management (GHRM),
corporate social responsibility (CSR), and top management commitment.

Design/methodology/approach

To conduct a systematic data collection from industrial and service organizations in Malaysia, a
self-administered questionnaire was used. The study's conceptual framework was created using the
partial least squares approach.

Findings

The obtained results show that top management commitment to CSR and all GHRM aspects are
significantly positively correlated. Contrary to expectations, however, the association between
GHRM and CSR was shown to be less significant than anticipated (with the exception of CSR and
green analysis/job description). This finding can be explained by the growing belief that HRM and
CSR should be connected.(Yusliza, 2019)

2- (Jose Benitez ,,2020,,How corporate social responsibility activities influence employer

reputation: The role of social media capability)

In the scholarly discourse on the commercial value of technology, this study examines the
relationship among a company's employer reputation, social media presence, and corporate social
responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This study, which is driven by the debate regarding social media's
role in a company's ability to generate value from corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives,
makes the assumption that companies that engage in CSR may improve as employers and that this
relationship may be strengthened when companies use social media technologies. Our explanation
for this social media impact is that these social technologies allow for increased social exposure,
visibility, and legitimacy. We used information from 100 Spanish organizations to test our research
approach. The findings offered two important insights: 1) CSR initiatives help businesses establish
a better employer brand; and 2) social media competence increases how much CSR efforts impact
an employer's reputation. By arguing theoretically and empirically that leveraging a technology like
social media generates business value through maximization of the positive impact of CSR
activities on employer reputation of the firm, this study adds to the body of research on information
systems and business ethics.(Saeidi, 2019)

Through an analysis of recent literature, cutting-edge concepts, statistics, and research gaps, this
study aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and
corporate citizenship (CC) in supply chain development.

Design/methodology/approach

This study looks into research designs and procedures, data analysis techniques, industry
engagement, geographic areas, and information found in already published academic journals.
Documentation also includes information on the publishers, authors, university affiliation, and year
of publication. To provide a comprehensive list of journal papers in this field of study, a number of
internet databases from 2001 to 2018 were examined using the terms "corporate social
responsibility," "corporate citizenship," and "supply chain" in their titles and abstracts.

Findings

Over the past eighteen years, there has been a discernible increase in the number of published
publications on supply chain sustainability, CSR, and CC. A analysis of the data reveals that there
are just five published literature reviews in this field. Key findings also show that 41% of papers
had a tight emphasis on only four industry areas, which left gaps in the study. Eighty-five percent of
the responses were focused on the survey and conceptual model, leaving a further research gap.
Lastly, based on additional industrial segmentation by area, the state of emerging and developed
nations should be identified, investigated, and evaluated. (Akbari & McClelland, 2020)

Research mythology

Introduction
A research design is a strategy for answering your research question. A research method is a
strategy for carrying out that plan. Methods and research design are distinct but closely related,
because good research design ensures that the data you collect will help you answer your research
question more effectively.
As it is indicated in the title, this chapter includes the research methodology of the dissertation. In
more details, in this part the author outlines the research strategy, the research method, the research
approach, the methods of data collection, the selection of the sample, the research process, the type
of data analysis, the ethical considerations and the research limitations of the project.
The main characteristic of qualitative research is that it is mostly appropriate for small samples,
while its outcomes are not measurable and quantifiable. Its basic advantage, which also constitutes
its basic difference with quantitative research, is that it offers a complete description and analysis of
a research subject, without limiting the scope of the research and the nature of participant’s
responses (Collis & Hussey, 2003).

In order to satisfy the objectives of the dissertation, a qualitative research was held.

Data collection method and tools

For the purposes of this research, the survey was used
Primary and secondary data

Primary data: The information was collected through the questionnaire I created on Google
Form.

* Advantage of Primary Research:

1) Specific issues are dealt with. The group requesting the research has total control over the
procedure, and it is streamlined in terms of its goals and purview. Instead than focusing on the mass
market, research firms should be instructed to focus their efforts on gathering data on certain
markets.

2) Data interpretation is improved. Instead of depending on the interpretation provided by

secondary data collectors, marketers may review and analyze the gathered data according on their
needs.

3) Recentness of Information. Secondary data is typically not as current and could not be
situationally or geographically relevant to the marketer. (Sparrow, 2023)
* Disadvantages of primary research:

Luminus Education – Quality Assurance Department

Page 15 of 20 (Form approved by Pearson – November 2017)
1) Expensive. Primary research data collection is expensive as a marketer must be involved at every
stage and create everything from scratch.
2) Time-consuming. Compared to secondary data, which can be gathered in a lot less time, proper
research takes a lot longer to complete due to the exercise's extensive nature.
3) Unreliable feedback. There's a good likelihood that feedback provided is inaccurate if the study
entails gathering input from the intended audience. By definition, feedback is biased or provided
purely for selfish reasons. (Sparrow, 2023)
Secondary data: The data was collected by reading books and previous studies.
Advantages of secondary research.
Outdated data
Information from secondary research occasionally include data that is out of date. Consequently,
reviewing those data might be a time-consuming task for the researchers. Consider a research that
was done a long time ago and might not be relevant now.
Not precise
Sometimes secondary data might not be precise. It is frequently not provided in a form that fully
satisfies the requirements of the researchers. Imagine discovering they are not specific after looking
through a stack of books and other pertinent papers! It might occasionally irritate the researcher.
(Rahman, 2023)
Disadvantages of secondary research:
Particular
The unique demands of the researchers are satisfied by primary research. The researchers may be
quite particular about the study's goals, objectives, and justification because it is predicated on the
collecting of unique data (Young, 2022). It offers more thorough views and is also current.
More authority
In primary research, researchers have a considerable degree of control. They might choose the
sample size, sampling techniques, hiring practices, and identity of study participants. (Rahman,
2023)
Reliability
Reliability is the degree of consistency of a measure. A test will be reliable when it gives the same
repeated result under the same conditions.
Validity
The extent to which the concept, conclusion, or measurement is well established and is likely to
correspond to the actual reality.
Limitation of my study:
Location: This study was limited to JOSWE Company.
Time: This study extended during the second semester of 2023/2024 from 11/1/2023 to 2/10/2024.
Survey design
I chose the questionnaire through Google Form .
Pros of Surveys:
Using a questionnaire is frequently the only option to obtain significant qualitative (text) input from
your target audience. You may learn more about your consumers' opinions about every facet of
your organization by asking open-ended inquiries.
Luminus Education – Quality Assurance Department
Page 16 of 20 (Form approved by Pearson – November 2017)
In a similar vein, surveys are the most effective means of getting your clients' emotional input.
Cons of Surveys:
Surveys only provide partial, sampled data.
In most cases, surveys use a sample size technique, inviting just a portion of the population to reply.
Usually, just a part of the group will reply, even when everyone is requested to.
Fatigue in Surveys Decreasing Response Rates
Everybody has gotten a survey invitation, and businesses are increasingly using them to get
feedback from their customers. This indicates that consumers are becoming a little survey fatigued.
Advantages of using Google forms:
The user interface for designing Google forms is welcoming, simple to use, and intuitive.
Professionals and novices alike may use the Google interface. When utilizing the program for the
first time, both participants might attain impressive outcomes. The shapes are adaptable and may be
adjusted to meet specific needs, and the integration is perfect.
Disadvantages of using Google forms
The cross-platform compatibility of Google Forms is a significant advantage. There are no
drawbacks or restrictions for desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone browsers—the user experience
is the same. No matter what device is used to generate or view the forms, every template design is
responsive and renders well. This is advantageous as it gives you no control over the device that
responders use to see the questionnaires or surveys.
