Type of Research

This study employed a quantitative method that included apreexperimental

design and a one-group pretest-posttest design.

Defines the quantitative approach as a technique that works with statistical

analysis of data in the form of scores and numbers. These numbers are mathematically

stated, and the appropriate statistical procedure must be used to understand and

analyze them.Furthermore, the author decided to utilize a quasi-experimental method

in this study because the goal of the experimental design is to ascertain the cause-and-

effect relationship between two variables. to ascertain The Influence of Tiktok as

Learning Media On Students’ English Pronounciation.

A quasi-experiment is an empirical interventional study that uses randomized

assignment to ascertain the intervention's causal impact on the target population.

Quasi-experimental research lacks the elements of random treatment assignment and

control, even if it resembles conventional experimental design or randomized

controlled trials. However, the researcher can typically alter the treatment condition

assignment using a criterion other than random assignment when utilizing a quasi-

experimental design (Mason et al., 2008)

Based on the explanation above, the research design can be described as

follows:

E
X O1
K
- O2

Explanation:
E : Experiment Class
K : Controlled Class
X : Treatment
O1 : The effect of treatment in learning
O2 : The effect of conventional learning
Two groups have been chosen based on the aforementioned design: the class

8b experimental group (E) and the class 8b control group (K). TikTok videos were

used as a teaching tool for the experimental group, whereas traditional teaching

methods were either ignored or continued for the control group. O1 and O2 are the

treatment's side effects. Through a classroom control that employs traditional

instruction, the impact of TikTok videos on students' pronunciation skills can be

observed.Following the instruction and learning process, a post-test was administered

to both courses to see how well the students had learned the material's pronunciation

in English.

1. Indikator of Research

According to Avery there are three indicators of pronunciation, they are stress,

rhythm, and intonation (Nasution & Tanjung, 2019).

a. Stress

The application of stress is one of the most important speech strategies

used by English speakers to convey meaning. Stress, according to Clarken,

refers to prominence and dialect, both of which concur that greater breath
effort and vocal fold muscle strength are the causes of loudness in accented

syllables.

Acording to (Styvant et al., 2019) English speakers use tress to

highlight information that they think is crucial. We'll start by examining stress

as a voice attribute. Speakers must emphasize certain syllables in words in

order to avoid misinterpretation or strange sounds.
