Title: True Gauge Of Generosity

Text: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Introduction: Apostle Paul urges the Corinthians to complete the task of collecting an offering for the
believers at Jerusalem so that they really experience true blessedness.

1. The RECOMPENSATION in giving

*verse 6, (SOWING sparingly will SECURE sparingly; GIVE generously will GAIN generously)

"But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap
bountifully."

2. The RESOLUTION in giving

*verse 7, (RESOLVED to give, not RELUCTANTLY)

"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful
giver."

3. The REMINDER in giving

a. The QUALIFYING

*verse 8, (ABLING to make all grace ABOUND)

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all
things, may have an abundance for every good work."

b. The QUOTATION

*verse 9, (it is PARTLY written in PSALM 112:9)

As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."

4. The RICHNESS in giving

a. The PROVISION of God

*verse 10a, (the SEED for SOWING and FLOUR for FOOD)

"Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food."

b. The PURPOSE of God

*verse 10b, (to enlarge the REAP of their RIGHTEOUSNESS)

"Supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness."

5. The REGARD in giving

*verses 11-12, (to be RICH in everything and RESULT in thanksgiving)

"While you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God."

6. The RESULTS of giving

*verses 13-14, (being APPROVED in ACCORDANCE to the gospel)

"Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience
that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them
and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the
surpassing grace God has given you."

7. The RECOGNITION in giving

*verse 15, (the GAUGE of GENEROSITY)

"Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!"

Conclusion: All that we have comes from God. This generous Giver also wants us to be generous givers
in every way to really reflects His character to everyone.
