IMPERIAL BATTLE BUNKER ‘The Battle Bunker is one of the miost heavily armoured Imperial buildings available to the Imperium. Where lighter buildings such as Firebases tend to be used as preliminary command posis, the Battle Bunker is a more permanent construction built to withstand virally anything from heavy shelling to lethal environments. Often, as campaigns get bogged down, the original command post may expand as a defensive perimeter is erecied around it, forming an all but impregnable fortress of plasctete and adamantium, Such a mighty citadel ofien ‘heéomes the focal point of a campaign as enemies atfempt to batter down the thick walls snd overrun the fortified position, Part of the reason for the bunker’s widespread us¢ is its versatility, It can be filted out for a. number of roles, from a simple strongpoint or gun emplacement to a fully equipped campaign headquarters or ecure barracks, Ingenious commanders have adapted these rugged buildings for practically every conceivable battlefield role. During the largest campaigns, Imperial deferices are often made up of tens of thousands of fortifications, laid in an unbroken ine stretching for hundreds of miles, to form an inpenetable defence repulsing attack after atack. As the battle line advances, new bunkers are erected closer to the fighting leaving ranks upon ranks of bunkers in feserve positions. Often some of these Battle Bunkers will become command centres behind the front lines Equipped with. tactical communications link-ups and primary command processors, they provide the perfect. place for Imperial Commanders to monitor the battle dine, plan Counter suikes and forays into enemy (erroritory. Such’a vital installation often becomes the target for enemy raids. Occasionally, Battle Bunkers hecome isolated and. the» defenders must hold) dieir strongpoint until relief forces arrive. “At these times the bunker’s resilience and ability to operate independently is tesied to the limit. Still, there are tales of outstanding heroism and. victory against the odds when a handful of troops have held out for hours or even days against forges many \imes their number. BATTLE BUNKER ASSEMBLY The next few pages illustrate how to assemble your Imperial Battie Bunker. To guide you through the process we have split the assembly instructions into a series of separate stages. Take your time with the construction and practise assembling each stage before gluing, PLASTIC BULKHEADS The Imperial Battle Bunker model tits together using he plastic” bulkheads supplied. These bulkneads form the main support for the card fioors anc walls. ‘There are several different bulkhead styles. At this stago ft is important to use exactly the sama type as ilustrated in the diagrams, The olastic bulkheads are designed so they cen be clipped together vertically. To do this, locate the bottom tabs of one bulkhead into the top slot of another. Push tho bulkheads togethor until they are flush with each other as shown in the ‘correct’ illustration ae GLUING PARTS TOGETHER We recommend that you glue your bunker together as this makes construction far easiar A bunker which has been glued together correctly will also provide a more stable surlece for you to battle over. Certain building parts already have tabs which require glue in order to hold them togather. A shaded area on the diagrams indicates that you should epply glue there. Most parts however, are designed to simply slot into the plastic bulkheads. Before you apply any glue to the components, tty coing a dy run of the assembly until you are confident thet you know how evarything tits together. I is best to glue the plastic bulkheads togethar first. Once dry, the bulkheads can then be glued into position with the various components. To glue the components together you will need to use Citado Super Glue or an all purpose adhesive like UHU glue. D| COMMAND CENTRE: Fold the main ‘Bunker root and wall section (2a) as ‘shown and then attach to the bulkheads. Fold round the sloping wall sections (2b) and push onto the bulkheads. Fold the door section (2c) and glue the tab on the inside of the bunker, locating one edge into | PARAPET WaLLs: Fold me paracet wails as shown, A using the location tabs sict Zo} them together, and gue the end laos feste cmc (Ree? {ne Slot provided en the comer bulkhead. Fold and glue the tutresses (3b) and push into the slots provided, Push the tabs on the completed annex Into the slots in the completed command centre. You ‘may find it helpful to glue these sections together. A] TOWER: Assemble two sete of bulkheads ant push them ‘onto the tower girder sections (4a). Fokd the tower platform (40) and glue the tabs in place. Slide the platform onto the buikigade as illustrated. Tho tower can be placed in a number Of positions. It can be atlached to the annex using the bulkheads, or placed seperately on the tabletop. 5 | FORWARD OBSERVATION POINT: Fold the main wall section (52) round as shovin. Glue the locking section (5b) to the main wall using the thinnor tab. Glue the two support sections (S¢) to the main wall, pushing 77 the end tabs ino the slots proved in the icking section (50). Ensure that <7 you use the thinner tabs to attach the support sections to the main wail. Glue the plattorm (6a) onto the thicker tabs of the support and locking sections 2s shown. G | FINAL ASSEMBLY: Foid the tower ampart section (Ga) round and push the eb into the tocating slot srovided in the tower platform. Give the long tab onte the tower plaitorm. Your building fs now ready for battle. Once the structures ere ‘complete we tecommend that you stick hem to card bases. This makes thesn ‘more durabie. Simply add some Gitadel flock and your structures are ready for action 5/7 il JLTI Bunker SRA2 wi 0S0066109¢66 UI evs Jeyung ILINW | mele os Ea ES eer errin hh Si AH
