Shoplifting Scenario

Part 1:

Without the ability to directly and methodically witness crime, we run the danger of having

inaccurate or biased knowledge on even the most fundamental aspects of our topic.

Although each approach for studying crime has pros and cons, they are all characterized by

the fact that the measurements of criminal conduct they provide are not based on direct

observation of the activity.

Similar to researcher observations, observations made with a CTV camera only need little

researcher engagement. As a result, research and camera observations are more suited for

systematic and deductive analysis, while participant observations are more likely to be

exploratory and inductive in nature.

For many individuals, being secure depends on swiftly reporting any occurrences or threats

to the authorities. I'll be paying attention to it and making notes on all the activity that is

being captured. I could ask my employees to keep an eye on them since I didn't have any

evidence at the time. After careful examination, I will ask them to reveal their bag so I can

do a bag inspection and make sure it has everything.

Part 2:

I provide the police with as much information about the offence as I can when I make a

statement. This includes:

• Descriptions of the girls' identities and current appearances;

• Descriptions of the stolen goods, including their serial numbers or distinguishing

markings;

The cops ask to examine the information to ensure that it is valid after realizing that it was

filed appropriately. I will be required to sign the statement to certify that it accurately

describes this instance of shoplifting.

I must provide the following:

I had to demonstrate the video and the way those products looked in the bags of those teens

in order to substantiate the allegations of theft.

That is to say, the prosecution should have a complete and accurate record of what was

stolen, when the defendants entered the business, what they did there, eyewitness reports of

their behaviour, and video evidence verifying those allegations.
