he Anarchs — an ever present force for change, the petty tantrums of youth,
the future of kindred-kind, or just “everyone else” — there are as many
different perspectives on who or what the Anarchs are as there are Anarchs!
Indeed, many of the erstwhile sect might not even self-identify with this
label, instead finding themselves surprised to be labeled with this rather
evocative term. The Anarchs are all of these things and more, but are far from just
unruly anarchists.
The Anarchs embody all the things the stuffy and autocratic Camarilla isn’t

— although plenty of their members aspire to this lifestyle. The Anarchs share some
ideological ground with the Sabbat, even if this revelation would appall many of its
members. The Anarchs are a Sect in only the loosest possible way, even as its
firebrands seek to solidify some sort of identity. For many Anarchs, they’re more
pl
likely to be defined as members by those outside the Sect, than from within it. In
short, the Anarchs embody their namesake with respect to how they’re organized,
being truly chaotic and fractured. More so than than anywhere else in the world of
the vampires, they’re driven by the truly unique characters that populate it.
The sect isn’t just the violent rabble rousers they’re made out to be by their
detractors, and Kindred of all ages and stripes make up the ranks of this Sect, giving
it a very cosmopolitan feel. Dozens of systems of governance and leadership —

ranging from dictatorial to communal — exist in the nascent Sect — rather than just
the typified perspective of the Baron, or Prince-by-another-name. The Sect is so
loosely organized (if it can even go so far as to use that term), that anything goes, and
whatever works for each domain becomes their cultural norm.

How To Use This Book

This book is designed for both Players and Storytellers, acting as a companion piece
to Anarchs. While that book looked at various slices of life of the Anarchs, and
widened the scope of what an Anarch could be beyond a pipe wielding rebel, this
book intends to look at the detail of night to night existence for the Sect and its
members. What are the archetypes that make up the Sect, and how do they apply
across the clans? What groups and factions have sprung up among the Sect, and how
political do they get — both to their own sect-mates, and with their interactions with
the outside world.
What does it mean to be an Anarch in the modern context, and how is that
different from existing in the other sects?

As with many things Anarch, it started
with Childer growing sick of the persecution of
their elders. The Antediluvians — the founders
of the Clans — rose up and destroyed their
Sires. Now I can’t say what each of their
reasons were, but if you believe in these myths,
then we’ve a pretty strong pedigree! I know a
Bahari who goes even further back, citing Lilith
as the first rebel — now I quite like that story,
and it’s not like we still don’t see the struggle
against the patriarchy tonight. Even more than
just that, the urge to push yourself via acts of
e
rebellion suits me. You’ve also probabally met
the Ministry by now, and they say the first rebel
was their founder, Set. If they’re right, then the
struggle against elders has divine backing, and
pl
what we’ve done over the centuries is part of
“god’s” plan — with everything I’ve seen, it’s
easily as plausible as the other stories. Way I
see it, we definitely came from somewhere, so
something about these stories has got to be true.
We’ve a rich heritage, and don’t let anyone tell
you otherwise.

By the way, if you’re ever unlucky
enough to meet the Sabbat and get them started
on the subject, they’ll swear blind Caine was
the first Anarch. Just smile and nod — whatever
you do, don’t challenge their position!”

VISION QUEST
The Beckoning may have stolen many of the
Elders, but if you look hard enough, plenty still
remain. While many specimens survive within
the Camarilla, they still hold valuable secrets.
Scholarly characters might seek them out to
find historical justification for their actions, as a
boon for another Anarch, or to solve a key piece
of a puzzle. Despite the age of these secrets,

they still resonate in the present day.

CORRECTIVE MEASURES
Some believe history should stay in the past,
that dredging up old wounds only serves to
cause unnecessary stress. When it comes to
Kindred pre-history, many treat the stories as
myth, but there are those militantly opposing
these creation stories. Perhaps the Church of
Caine want to destroy a Bahari claiming to have
met Lilith, or the incoming Setites want to
purge a province of some ex-Sabbat Cainites.
The targeted removal of those espousing the old
stories allows others to forge their own path
unapposed.

“Carthage was the original dream, the first real
place where our kind made a difference, with
this one act of rebellion creating the best
example of what we’re capable of. You’ve
must’ve heard of Carthage, and if you’ve not,
can you truly call yourself an Anarch?
Carthage was the perfect mix of human
and vampire society. I’m sure it had its issues,
but everyone managed to coexist, the people did
their thing, and happily fed their vampire
protectors — symbiosis. Can you imagine that?
No hiding necessary, seeing loved ones
whenever you wanted, and even having a
family! We wouldn’t live in fear of daylight, and
 the Kine wouldn’t need to fear us either!
This is what the Brujah created, and
the jealous blue-bloods destroyed. Don’t ever
forget that a utopia existed, and now we’ve just
got the dream.
When we talk about the dream of
Carthage, this is what we mean! We just want
peace, a place for everyone, and a different
existence than what we’ve been dealt by the
Camarilla.
Look, we’re not idiots, and right now
the Masquerade is critical, but that doesn’t
mean we can’t dream, and slowly push the
envelope. In an ideal world, this wouldn’t be
controversial, but the selfishness and jealousy
of others means this can only be fixed by us
Anarchs”.

ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE ON CARTHAGE
A humane Utopia? Don’t make me vomit blood!

Carthage was a mess, sure the vampires didn’t hide
from the kine, but only because they lived in
glorious fear of their masters! It was only a utopia
for one half of the population.
Imagine this, an entire civilization enslaved
to ancient blood gods, sacrifices running from

sundown to sunrise, and more blood than any could
hope to consume. Have you heard tell of the
sacrificial pits? No? Well, one day, we’ll sit down
and I’ll enlighten you about their true purpose!
When the Romans salted the earth in

Carthage, it wasn’t just to keep the Brujah down.
Much worse sleeps beneath that hallowed soil, and
much could be gained from its unearthing. Have
you ever wondered why so many of the Beckoned
elders seems to be summoned there? Yes, you see
now, it’s a place of power, and this power never left
us…

PROPAGANDA
For the longest time, Carthage existed as an
object lesson — this is what happens when the

Kine are exposed to the secrets of undeath — it
cannot be allowed to continue lest everyone
suffers. Still, various factions have attempted to
create a new Carthage in the millennia since,
fil
failing every time.
Now, an Anarch’s come forward
claiming to have run a commune in the
mountains for the past 70 years, successfully
integrating humanity and vampires. They now
seek other, like minded kindred to join them,
and show the world it can be done, and that all
prior failures because jealous and fearful
outsiders shit them down.
BURIED SECRETS
What was Carthage? Was it a peaceful society
where Kindred and Kine coexisted successfully,
or was it a hellhole, the sacrificial pits dedicated
to demonic sacrifice? Certainly both theories
have their proponents, with the Molochim
influence version having gained steam in the
past few decades. Still, Carthage’s defenders
point to the lack of evidence, and the important
factor of the winners defining the recorded
history. They repeatedly point out the holes in
the demonic worship version of the tales, and
seek to prove it. A noted Ipsissimus has
perfected a ritual that can “de-salt” the earth,
and now seeks a crew to assist them with their
quest to unearth the many Methuselahs buried
beneath Carthage’s soil.
The Revolt
Found on notes ascribed to Beckett, but widely
believed to be forgeries.
“As far as I can tell, the times of the Anarch
Revolt are the first times we hear the term
Anarch, and where a few movements sprung up.

In terms of important moments for our kind, few
were as tumultuous as this, and fewer still had
such long reaching implications. Let’s be
honest, we’re still seeing the fallout of this
period tonight!
Depending on your scholar of choice,
you’ll hear many different starting points for
the Revolt — was it Tyler’s rebellion? The
Tremere/Tzimisce war? The joining of the Banu
Haqim to the effort? Or the supposed
destruction of the Tzimisce or Lasombra
founders? Personally, I put it at the moment of
Saulot’s destruction, as much of the strife was
triggered by this event — but it’s a question
with no solid answer. What is fascinating is how
so many disparate groups over such a wide
area all rose up in anger against their elders,
and cut many of them down. It was only a few
drastic and unrepeatable moments that stopped
e
the Anarchs from coming out on top — namely
the intervention of the Tremere against the
Banu Haqim. Even then, reform did happen,
and while the Camarilla wasn’t (and isnt) to
pl
everyone’s taste, it was a step forward, and
both sides made concessions that day in
Thornes.
What I find interesting is how it has
parallels tonight — suddenly we’ve masses of
young kindred declaring for the Anarch cause,
an Inquisition in full swing, and a decadent sect
m
of Elders ignoring the way the wind’s blowing.
If we were to believe history repeats itself —
and I certainly do — then it would seem time’s
up for the Camarilla, and the young will again
force some reforms. The question remains as to
whether the elders will have an ace to pull at
the last moment, or whether their luck’s finally

STORY HOOKS:
MIRRORED HISTORY
While many Elders have succumbed to the
Beckoning, others have found ways to retain
their higher selves and remain. One such Elder
was a prominent opponent of the Anarchs
during the first Revolt, their vicious reputation

having remained buried for many years.
Recent behaviour has drawn an older
Anarch from the woodwork, and they’ve been
drip feeding evidence to the local Anarchs of
their wrong doing.

When Diablerie of Fledglings is
revealed, will the Anarchs use this as an excuse
to attack, or follow the laws of the Camarilla
territory they reside in? Either step risks

sparking another uprising, with history
repeating itself once more.
ANCIENT ALLIES
Many Anarchs write-off all Elders as the same
— set in their ways, and desperate for power
regardless of the cost. Still, every Elder was
young once, and many would have been part of
the original Anarch Revolt. When evidence
surfaces of a local Camarilla Elder having been
a prominent firebrand back in the day, will the
Unbound rise against them for their seeming
betrayal, or attempt to reignite their anger and
have them rejoin the cause?
A Step Too Far

“No story of the Anarchs is complete without
talking about what became of the true Anarchs.
Many buckled and conceded, falling beneath
their new, Camarilla masters and accepting the
same bullshit as before, politely thanking them
as they were force fed more elder shit.
I’ve spoken with Caine’s Angel of this
moment, when those who wouldn’t and couldn’t
buckle made their defiance known, when they
stood up to tyranny and said “Not in my
name!”. It is on the shoulders of these giants we
stand, proud Sabbat, and envoys of Caine’s
defiance.
We are the true Anarchs. Never
defeated, and never beholden to our Elders.
