 MAGNETIC SEPARATOR
DEFINITION:
A magnetic separator is a device that utilizes magnets to remove
magnetic materials from a mixture. It is commonly used in various industries to
separate ferrous materials (those containing iron) from non-magnetic substances.

PRINCIPLE:
The principle behind magnetic separation is the attraction or
repulsion of materials based on their magnetic properties.

WORKING:
Magnetic separators can use either permanent magnets or
electromagnets to create a magnetic field. In the case of permanent magnets, the
magnetic field is always present, while electromagnetic separators generate a
magnetic field when an electric current is applied. The mixture containing
magnetic and non-magnetic materials is fed into the magnetic separator. Magnetic
materials, such as iron or steel particles, are attracted to the magnetic field and are
pulled toward the magnetized area of the separator. This causes them to be
separated from the non-magnetic materials. The magnetic materials are retained by
the magnetic force , while the non-magnetic materials continue along their original
path. The separated magnetic materials are typically collected in a separate
container.

WHIMS: WET HIGH INTENSITY MAGNETIC SEPARATOR:

Wet high gradient magnetic separator can be used in
wet beneficiation for particles below 1.2
mm (30~100% passing 200 mesh) of fine-grained
liberated red ore (hematite), limonite, manganese ore,
ilmenite and other kinds of weakly magnetic minerals,
and can also be used for removing of iron impurity
and purification of non-metallic minerals, such as
