and Colleagues
On behalf of the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) of the
American Institute of Chemical Engineers and our co-organizer,
the Consejo Colombiano de Seguridad (CCS), I am pleased to
invite you to attend and participate in the 10th CCPS Latin
American Conference on Process Safety (LACPS) in Colombia. It
will be good to return to this beautiful city and share best practices

those attending from other parts of the world.

I would like to thank the Leadership Team for this conference and Chair Julian Eduardo Camargo Castro
(Ecopetrol), past chairs Eduardo De Maio Francisco (VALE) and Gustavo Correa (retired YPF), and Carmen
H. Osorio Amado, Ph.D. (CCPS Latin America Regional Manager). As the conference grows closer, you will
hear more about this team and their work to provide an exceptional event.
I am looking forward to seeing you in Colombia in 2024!

On behalf of the Colombian Safety Council (CCS), it is an honor to


organize, alongside CCPS, the 10th Latin American Conference on Process
Safety.

Choosing Colombia as the venue for this academic agenda


brings us great satisfaction: it is an opportunity to highlight
the importance of process safety in preventing and
controlling incidents with the potential to release hazardous
substances or energies that could trigger high-consequence
events.

Undoubtedly, risk management in industry is an evolving
