About The Department
Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and
Technology, Hisar-125001, Haryana started its
journey on October 20, 1995 under Haryana State
Legislative Act No. 17 of 1995. The University has
been recognized by the UGCunder Section 2(f) for
recognition of degrees since 11.1.1996 and under
section 12(B) of the UGC Act to be eligible for
central assistance since 7.2.1997. The university
aims to impart education on the frontiers of
E n g i n e e r i n g a n d Te c h n o l o g y, P h a r m a c y,
Environmental Studies, Non-conventional Energy
Sources, Mass Media and Management Studies.
Today the university is rock-standing on 372 acres of
lush green land with 23 teaching departments. The
University at present offers 55 regular programmes
o n c a m p u s i n c l u d i n g B . Te c h . , M . Te c h . ,
B.Physiotherapy, M.Physiotherapy, B.Pharma,
M.Pharma, M.Physiotherapy, MSc., MBA, M.Com
and MCA etc. with Ph.D. degree programme in all
the Departments. The University is presently graded
as `A+’ by NAAC. The University has received
highest grants in Haryana State from RUSA, MHRD
for this Centre. The University has been ranked
among 1001-1200 Rank Band in the globally
prestigious Times Higher Education World
University Ranking 2022. The University has also
been ranked in 601-800 rank band in the Physical
Sciences subject category in the Times Higher
Education World University Ranking 2022.The
University has also been ranked 401-500 in The
Times Higher Education Emerging Economies
University Rankings 2022. The University has added
another feather of international recognition in the
form of securing rank between 351-400 in the
globally renowned Times Higher Education Young
University Rankings 2022. The h-index (Scopus) of
the university has gone upto 102 at present. For more

Engineering is a pioneering academic center for
education at undergraduate and post graduate level.
The Department has grown many folds in academics
and infra-structure since its inception. The
Department has qualified and experienced faculty.
Strong research groups exist in the area of Data
Mining, Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence,
Machine Learning, Ad-hoc Mobile Networks,
Network Security, Software Engineering and Image
Processing. The increasing number of good research
publications in International Journals and
Conference proceedings of great repute is a welcome
sign of the growing research activities of the
Department. UGC has recognized the academic and
research achievements of the Department and
recommended it under its SAP-Phase II.
About The FDP
The fields of computational intelligence have grown
tremendously over the past few years, and the credit
goes to evolving soft computing, artificial intelligent
methodologies, machine learning, robotics
technology, self-driven vehicles, new medical
devices, Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, tools
and techniques for envisaging the essence of
intelligence embedded in real-life observations. The
proposed FDP covers a wide range of applications of
Computational Intelligence across various domains.
The main objective of this one-week Faculty
Development Programme on ‘Emerging Trends in
Computational Intelligence” from 15.01.2024 to
20.01.2024 through online mode, is to provide a
platform for the participants to not onlyupdate
I n f o r m a t i o n a b o u t E m e rg i n g Tr e n d s i n
Computational Intelligence but also facilitate
participants from various disciplines to attend,
appreciate, and augment their knowledge in
a l i g n m e n t w i t h e m e rg i n g c o m p u t a t i o n a l
technologies. This FDP is specially designed to
provide insights into the theory, algorithms,
implementation, and application of Emerging Trends
in Computational Intelligence Techniques.
