Slicer:

1) Enter your table,


2) Click on:
 Pivot table
 Design
 Report layout
 Show in Tabular Format
 Analyze
 Insert Slicer
3) Select Slicer Filters,
 Click on X on left top of a slicer table to clear all filter in specified slicer tab,
 Press CTRL and click, if multiple slivers are required.
 Slicer height, width, column etc can be changed from toolbar,
 Select slicer and press “DELETE” to delete it.
 If a Pivot Table is copied, then both Pivot tables will be controlled same slicer
4) To confirm “Total Connections” for a slicer,
 Select a slicer,
 Click on options toolbar,
 Click on Report Connections option on bar,
 Table will appear on screen, that shows the total connection for Pivot Table,
 Now select the Pivot Tables to attached or detach to slicer.

Pivot Table:

1) To remove “–”, click on:


 Analyze table,
 +/- Button, option from toolbar.
2) Select a Pivot Table
 Click Analyze -> on left top Pivot table’s name will be shown.

Function Keys:

3dsum (Value at same locations):

¿ ∑ ( Name of first sheet : Name of last sheet ' ! Cell ¿ )


It sums the values on different sheets but on same “Cell #” on each sheet.

Consolidation (Values at different locations):

If data is located on different locations, then 3dsum does not work. To perform required operation
following procedure is adopted:

 Enter your date on different sheets,


 Go to location where you want to show your results,
 Click on:
 Data tab,
 Consolidation,
 A box will appear
 Select function that you want to perform,
 Now go to reference box,
 Click on your first value,
 Add it by pressing add button,
 Now go to reference box again,
 Add other value(s),
 Click Ok to get calculation.

List from Box:

Click on:

- Date,
- Data Validation,
- From Setting tab, select List under Allow,
- In Source box, type list items, separated by “,”,
- Press Ok to create List.

List from Named List:

- Type data to be appeared as list,


- Select the data,
- Click on:
- Date,
- Data Validation,
- From Setting tab, select List under Allow,
- In Source box, type list name without any “”,
- Press Ok to create List.

List from Selection:

- Click on:
- Date,
- Data Validation,
- From Setting tab, select List under Allow,
- In Source box, click on text area and then select the data from sheet to be shown as list,
- Press Ok to create List.

Dependent list:

- Type the first list that are the headings of the sub-lists, e.g. Electronics, Furniture,
- Now under each head, type sub-list items, e.g. TV under Electronics, Sofa under Furniture,
- Create a list,
- Now create a dependent list as:
- Click on:
- Date,
- Data Validation,
- From Setting tab, select List under Allow,
- In Source box, type following syntax,

OR

¿ indireact (Cell wheremain list is created )


- Press Ok to create List.

Multiple Pages on Single Page:

- Click on Top Left corner of excel,


- A box will appear, Now
- Create a New Group,
- Now select Commands not in the ribbon,
- Add Camera command by from list,
- Select your data that you want to attach,
- Click on Camera icon on ribbon,
- Now Paste it on your desired location,
- It will be shown as live data, and by double clicking it, it will take you to the original
sheet.

Flash Fill:

If your data is following some pattern e.g. separating a text string as first or last name, then Flash Fill
function can be used to fill the following range according to pattern as:

- Type your data,


- Type a pattern for up to 3 cells,
- Select the range,
- Press Ctrl+E, or
- Click on Data-> Flash Fill.

Sheet protection:

There are 4 ways to protect a sheet:

1) Sheet tab,
2) Review tab,
3) File menu,
4) Home tab.
1) Sheet tab:
- Right click on sheet name,
- Select protect sheet,
- Enter the password in dialogue
- Select permissions you want to five other persons.
2) Review tab:
- Click on Review,
- Protect Sheet,
- Same dialogue box will appear.
3) File menu:
- Click on File -> Info -> Protect Workbook -> Protect Current Sheet,
- Same dialogue box will appear.
4) Home tab:
- Click on Home -> Format -> Protect Sheet (from list),
- Same dialogue will appear.

Comparing Multiple Sheets:

Click on:

- View,
- New Window,
- Arrange All,

Select arrange style.

Formulas:

=Sum product (Array 1, Array 2) Sum of Array 1 × Sum of Array 2


=text(ref_cell,”mmm”) Month name
=text(ref_cell) Month number

Advance Filter (Copy Filtered Data Automatic):

1) Enter your data with heading, that is your source data,


2) Enter your data with headings that you want to search from source data, that is criteria data,
3) Click on Data -> Advance
4) Select In Place option if you require to show searched data on same source data location, or
Copy to another location if you want to paste is somewhere else,
5) In list range enter range of your searched data,
6) In Criteria range, enter range of criteria data,
7) In Copy to, enter location where you want to paste searched data,
8) Press Ok

Remove Duplicates:

1) Move cursor to table,


2) Click on Design -> Remove Duplicates,
3) It will delete all duplicate values by leaving only single value from duplicates.

Speak Cells:

- Click on Top Left corner of excel,


- A box will appear, Now
- Now select Commands not in the ribbon,
- Add Speak Cell command by from list,
- Select your data that you want to attach,
- Click on Camera icon on ribbon,
- Now Paste it on your desired location,
- It will be shown as live data, and by double clicking it, it will take you to the original
sheet.

Outline:

1) Select Rows or Columns,


2) Click on Data -> Group
3) Press Ok

dsum:

dsum function is use to find and sum all values on basis of multiple criteria.

1) Enter your data with heading, the source data,


2) Enter your search criteria with headings,
3) Type the column number that values will be shows as sum if criteria matched.
