How would you compare the iconography of coins issued by Constantine I

and the Arch of Constantine commissioned by the Senate of Rome? What
does this difference show us regarding the state's attitude toward religions?

In the silver medallion, which was issued by Constantine itself, he was

depicted in an ostentatious way, girded by his helmet and armor emphasizing
the political and military power he holds over the Byzantine Empire. However,
one cannot assert that Constantine was content with confining his power within
the borders of the Byzantine Empire. His desires regarding the Roman Empire
were put forward on the silver coins that features the “she-wolf and suckling in-
fants” figures, which is a familiar concept for those who are acquainted with the
founding story of Rome.

While Constantine had intentions of raising his imperial status, The Arch
of Constantine, dedicated to him by the Senate of Rome, shows that he actually
realized his dreams concerning the Roman Empire now that he became the ruler
to an empire that is thankful to him for his victories and contributions to the
city.

If we take a brief look at the coins and examine the details, there take
place Christian symbols on the helmet the emperor is wearing. Recalling that
Christianity was once seen as a threat to the government by the Senate of
Rome, glorifying a Christian leader by dedicating him the Arch of Constantine
can be considered as an unexpected situation.
