Effective curriculum creation and a good educational program should aim to achieve the
requirements and present expectations of the community being serviced as well as those of
culture and society. As a result, curriculum creation and the process of educational reform are
subject to ongoing evaluation, modification, and alteration. All parties concerned, especially
those who are actively involved in student education, should be included in curriculum
development as it can be a tough process.
As a teacher, it is without doubt that we are the most crucial individual in the curriculum
implementation process. Teachers are essential to any endeavor to establish a curriculum
because of their knowledge, experiences, and competencies. Because we are the most
experienced in teaching and are in charge of implementing the curriculum in the classroom,
better teachers facilitate better learning. We must try to learn and comprehend the curriculum
if it has already been prepared by another party. Thus, educators ought to be involved in the
creation of curricula. Our thoughts and opinions, for instance, ought to be included while
developing the curriculum. However, the teacher is a component of the environment that
influences curriculum, thus the curriculum development team must take it into account. Thus,
our participation is crucial for fruitful and meaningful curriculum development. Teachers being
the implementers are part of the last stage of the curriculum development process.
In other words, no curriculum will ever be flawless, a final product that cannot be altered,
or devoid of criticism, but in order to be successful, it must be approved by educators and
recognized as an appropriate educational resource by parents and the community at large in
addition to instructors. It is important to consider curriculum development as a process that
enhances student learning by attending to the requirements of the students. It also can't remain
still. A curriculum ought to be an active, ever-evolving document. It needs to be flexible enough
to adjust to shifts in the educational landscape and in society at large. It won't be able to
effectively influence change in the educational process until then.
Therefore, teacher involvement in the process of curriculum development is important to
align content of curriculum with students needs in the classroom. We are an important factor in
the success of curriculum development including the steps of implication and evaluation.
