Course Assessment
o Continuous Assessment (CA) – Two Practical Tests (60%)
o Semester Examination (SE) – Written (40%)

𝐶𝐴 = 0.2 × 𝑇1 + 0.2 × 𝑇2 + 0.2 × 𝑃𝑅

CA = 0.2 × 𝑇1 + 𝑇2 + 𝑃𝑅
o Where:
o 𝑇1 is test 1

o 𝑇2 is test 2

o 𝑃𝑅 is project
Learning tools
o MS Excel (Get familiar with .csv format)

o MS Word for report and saving screen shots

o Snipping tool (built in app in windows OS) for taking screen shots

Geological Modeling Workflow
o Data
o Required data include the following:
o topography contours
o Drillholes information (collar, survey, lithology, assay, zones, etc.)
o Structural data e.g., fault surfaces
o Orebody string model
o Orebody wireframe model, and
o Ore and waste block models
Geological Modeling Workflow cont…
o Drillholes

o drillhole data tables are desurveyed to generate static drillholes

o drillholes are validated (visually or statistically)

o drillholes are composited by rock type or mineralization zone for use in

string modeling
Geological Modeling Workflow cont…
o Section Strings Model

o closed perimeter strings are digitized

o tag strings are digitized

o custom attributes are added to strings (colors, zone codes, etc.)

o strings are conditioned (delete, move points, smooth, etc.)

Geological Modeling Workflow cont…
o Wireframe Model

o Surface topography wireframe

o orebody closed volume wireframes

o custom attributes are automatically transferred from strings to wireframes

o wireframes are verified

o Volume are calculated

Geological Modeling Workflow cont…
o Block Model

o Different block models are created

o Waste block model

o Orebody block model

o Combined block model

o Optimized block model

Geological Modeling Workflow cont…
o Block Model

o Block models contain:

o Rock codes

o Densities (Specific gravities)

o Custom attributes e.g., mineralization zone codes

Geological Modeling Workflow cont…
o Grade Estimation

o The optimized "waste + ore" block model undergoes seamless transition to

the subsequent stage, where a dedicated workflow for grade estimation is
employed.
