Current Scenarios

Barangay Mayamot stands as a major urban center and transport hub in Antipolo City, recognized for its
strategic location and proximity to Metro Manila. The presence of large residential areas contributes to
its significance, maintaining the highest centrality index among Antipolo's barangays. With the ongoing
construction of the LRT Line 2 extension and high-intensity development, Mayamot is poised to further

traffic issues and parking inadequacies, emphasizing the need for careful urban planning.

Issues and Concerns

The current scenario of the CBD in Barangay Mayamot reveals several challenges, including a lack of
open spaces, non-PWD-friendly pedestrian access and falls short of government standards, insufficient
green spaces, sprawl in business stalls, and inadequate planning of spaces in relation to their spatial
relationships. Additionally, the hilly terrain poses a small risk of landslides, especially in the western part
with numerous hills and the east side which is more like big mountains from the Sierra Madre range,
while perennial flooding issues persist due to creek and river swell during poor drainage conditions.
Addressing these concerns is crucial for the sustainable development of the CBD.
