Weekend Worksheet(30th October 2023-3rd November 2023)

SUBJECT: MATHEMATICS
CLASS - IX

TOPIC: CIRCLES

1. In the given figure, O is the centre of the circle. If chord AB = chord CD,
find the value of x.

2. O is the centre of the circle, AB is the chord of the circle. OM ⊥ AB. If

AB = 20 cm and OM = 2√11 cm, then find the radius of the circle.

3. O is the centre of the circle with radius 5 cm.

Chords AB and CD are parallel. AB = 6 cm and CD = 8 cm. If PQ is the
distance between AB and CD, then find PQ .

4. O is the centre of the circle having radius 5 cm.

AB and AC are two chords such that AB = AC = 6 cm.
If OA meets BC at M, then find OM.

5. Prove that the line joining the mid – points of two parallel chords of a circle passes through the
centre of the circle.

6. Two equal chords AB and CD when produced, intersect at P. Prove that PB = PD.

7. In the given figure, AB and CD are two chords equidistant from the centre O.
OP is the perpendicular drawn from the centre O to AB. If CD = 6 cm,
find PB.
