Pied piper of Hamelin

Summary of the story


The town of Hamelin, is plagued by rats, so the Mayor promise to offer one thousand marks
to anyone who can get rid of the rats. A piper offers to do the job, and successfully he leads
the rats to the river and they drown. The citizens, disappointed that all he did was play a tune,
and the Mayor breaks his promise and refuses to pay him. The piper, angered, plays a new
tune that has all the children of the city follow him and he take them away in the mountain.
