1. What are the different types of projects taken up by CSIR-CRRI?

The different types of Projects taken up by CSIR-CRRI are


 CSIR and In house Funded R&D Projects
 Externally Funded Projects which can be of three types, namely,
 Contract R&D Projects
 Consultancy Projects
 Technical Services Projects

2. Does CSIR-CRRI takes up any field related problems forwarded by PIUs/ Implementing Agencies for
R&D work/ providing solution?

Yes, CSIR-CRRI takes up any road and road transportation related (including Bridges) field problems
for providing solutions.

3. Whether CSIR-CRRI takes up Projects sponsored by Private Companies?

Yes, CSIR-CRRI takes up projects sponsored by Private Companies also, in road and road
transportation sector.

4. What is the procedure for referring a field problem to CSIR-CRRI?

PIUs/ Implementing Agencies/ Private Contractors who desire to refer a road and road transportation
related field problem to CSIR-CRRI, should write a letter / email addressed to the Director, CSIR-CRRI
to take up R&D studies on the field problem being faced by them. The letter/ email should include
information about site location, details of the problem, photos if any, etc.,

5. Whether testing of materials/ mixes, etc is taken up by CSIR-CRRI?

Yes, Testing of materials/mixes are taken up by CSIR-CRRI, depending upon the availability of the
concerned staff/ equipment time.
