GPA 101: Assignment 1

(15 Marks)
Learning Reflections on Week 8 and Week 10

In this graded assignment, you are required to go through the recorded lectures,
slides and the assigned readings of Week 8 and Week 10. After going through these
materials, you have to write your own reflections on the topics covered in these two
lectures.

Ideally, you should pick one or two themes from both of these lectures and reflect on
them. Detailed guidelines about how to write your reflections are given below.

Guidelines for Reflective Writing:1

Writing reflectively for the purposes of an academic assignment should not involve
merely describing something that you have read. Nor does it mean pouring out
everything you think and feel in a totally unstructured way.

Reflective writing requires a clear line of thought, use of evidence or examples to

illustrate your reflections, and an analytical approach.

You are aiming to strike a balance between your personal perspective, and the
requirements of good academic practice and rigorous thinking.

This means:

1. developing a perspective, or line of reasoning

2. demonstrating that you are well informed, have read relevant literature and
reflected on its relevance to your own development

3. showing that you recognize that situations are rarely simple and clear-cut

4. writing about the link between your experiences/practice and your reading

5. writing in an appropriate style.

Grading Criteria:

You are going to be graded on the basis of point 1-5 mentioned above.

Document Guidelines:

• Your document should not be more than one page.

• Your document should be a MS Word file.

o Name your document with your full name e.g. Muhammad_Ayaan.doc

• You should submit your document latest by 08:00pm on 17 April 2020 on the
Turnitin drop box on LMS. Do not upload multiple copies of the same
document on Turnitin. Marks will be deducted if the Similarity/Plagiarism
Index on Turnitin is more than 20%.
