1.WHAT IS POLOITICAL CULTURE?

Political culture is the view, aspirations, and beliefs of most citizens of the country towards political
systems. It can be said to be a psychological matter of the people. It is also the type of people’s
mentality in relation to political activities, not political activities itself.

2.HOW CIVIL SOCIETY ASSOCIATED WITH THE GROWTH OF DEMOCRACY?

Civil society plays a crucial role in the growth of democracy. Here are some ways how civil society is
associated with the growth of democracy:

1. Providing a check on government: Civil society organizations act as watchdogs by monitoring


the actions of government. They hold the government accountable and prevent abuse of
power.

2. Advocating for the rights of citizens: Civil society organizations are the voice of citizens. They
advocate for the values of democracy such as equality, justice, and human rights.

3. Fostering participation: Civil society organizations promote citizen participation in the


democratic process through various means such as organizing rallies, mobilizing support, and
influencing policy decisions.

4. Building social capital: Civil society organizations bring people together and build social
capital. They provide a platform for people to interact and engage in collective action that
promotes democratization.

5. Strengthening democratic institutions: Civil society organizations work towards strengthening


democratic institutions by promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.

In summary, civil society organizations are a vital part of a thriving democracy as they provide a
needed counterbalance to government power, advocate for citizen rights, promote participation,
build social capital, and strengthen democratic institutions.

3.WHAT HAS BEEN THE EFFECT OF THE CHINESE GOVERNMENTS LANGUAGE POLICY?

INTRDUCTIN:

The population of China consists of 56 officially recognized ethnic groups, which speak (depending on
the criteria used) from 135 to nearly 300 languages. About 90% of the population declare themselves as
belonging to the Han-Chinese nationality. The language spoken by this majority is by no means uniform,
the varieties of Chinese are so diversified, that most of them are mutually unintelligible, and some
linguists even call them separate languages. The remaining 10% speak languages that are classified into
five language families.
The effects of the language policy in China: The goal of current Chinese language policy would be that
every citizen can speak perfect Putonghua fluently, while the local tongues have not been affected.
However, the reality is different.
