UPSC CSAT Syllabus 2024 for IAS Prelims Paper II

UPSC CSAT syllabus has sections such as Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. The full form of CSAT is Civil
Services Aptitude Test. It is conducted to assess the candidates on their reading, analytical and reasoning skills. According to UPSC IAS exam
pattern, the CSAT paper will have 80 questions, with a total of 200 marks and the CSAT exam duration is 2 hours.

Analyzing the above chart, Quantitative Aptitude has gained prominence over the years. Even if the candidate just attempt the Quantitative section
they can still pass the paper. Although the Reasoning Section has minimum questions, they are very easy and scoring. Reading comprehension is
one of the most difficult sections of the CSAT paper.

UPSC IAS CSAT Preparation Strategy 2024

Start preparing for CSAT at least three months before the Prelims exam. Starting CSAT preparation late can overburden you during the last few weeks before
the exam.
It’s suggested to prepare the topics from YouTube videos. After watching the videos, practise as many questions as possible to cement the concepts. The
aspirants can watch this playlist to prepare for CSAT- CSAT for Prelims.
Attempt the paper in rounds- Devotee 5 minutes to scan all the questions in the paper. Start solving the easier questions, and after move to the difficult
questions. In this way, you will be able to attempt the maximum number of questions.
Stay calm and solve the questions carefully. As the number of questions is less you have to be very careful while solving the questions, especially the reading
comprehension and quant questions.
Try to attempt at least 40 to 50 questions in the CSAT paper. Although candidates need to solve 27 questions correctly to pass the exam, it would be better to
attempt at least 40 to 50 questions, to be on the safer side.
