Abstract
This study examined the Use of the information literacy skills of students of Imo
State University, Owerri. Information Search Process Model (ISP) and
constructivist learning theory was used as the theoretical background. Other related
literatures were reviewed. The research design for this study is descriptive survey.

are accessible and available through electronic means, typically accessed via
other digital materials that provide information and knowledge in various fields

information literacy skills is vital for students to adapt to the changing information
tailored for their utilization. These skills encompass various aspects, including the
and authority of online sources, analyze and synthesize information from multiple
sources, and ethically use and cite electronic resources (American Library
Association, 2015). By acquiring these skills, students can enhance their research
capabilities, improve the quality of their academic work, and become more
benefits for students. Firstly, electronic resources provide access to a wealth of up-
to-date and relevant information that can greatly enhance students' learning
experiences (Abdullah, 2019). With just a few clicks, students can access a vast

students with access to electronic resources and to offer guidance and support in
helping students develop the necessary skills to navigate the digital information
landscape effectively.
