In the last decade, there has been a great increase in the number and variety of

online courses available to adults. This has been welcomed as a great opportunity
by many students, however, other students see these courses as less effective than
classroom teaching. What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying an
online course?

Ways of education has changed dramatically since the past century. Introduction of distance training
was a breakthrough in the way educational materials are getting delivered. In these years, there has
been an enormous growth in both quantity and the diversity of online courses which are presented
to the public. While many learners have found this phenomenon useful, a fraction of them believe
that this method efficiency is lower than traditional teaching methods. In the following essay, perks
and downfalls of this subject will be elaborated

Ease of access to different educational materials regardless of geographical position, lower overhead
costs and make the educational path more affordable are the benefits of online training. Using
modern technology and the internet, students and learners are able to attend any class or use
different resources from anywhere on the planet without the need to travel distances to take part in
a class. In addition to that, omitting the need to use transportation vehicles to reach the educational
facilities and providing physical instruments for a classroom will dramatically reduce the expenses
which will benefits both institutions and learners and as a result lowers the prices which makes the
training more affordable for more people across the world.

On the other hand, less supervision on students during the class time, more cheating probability and
possibility of interruption due to technical issues are the drawbacks of distance learning. During
online classes, instructors have less control on their students to check on their quality of attendance.
Moreover, cheating is much easier during online examinations as invigilators cannot oversee all of
exam takers as they do in physically held examinations. Furthermore, these classes are highly
depend on the quality of informatic infrastructure and as a result, should technical difficulties occur,
the quality of the training will not be as it has to be.

Overall, Although distance learning would help individuals with its availability, cheaper prices and
being more affordable, less supervision, possibility of regulation abuse and suffering from technical
glitches could affect the overall efficiency of online tutoring.
