1 Few people, if any, read small fonts, and even fewer read footnotes in resumes, making it unlikely that anyone will ever read what is written here. As a philosopher, I acknowledge that I am
not particularly good, and I have no excuse for that. Two things have consistently diverted me from the path of devotedly engaging with specific philosophical details or the work of other
philosophers throughout my life. The first is my three addictions, which have consumed a significant portion of my time—sports (rowing and following football, and swimming among others),
film (especially sci-fi/horror films), and music (particularly rock, punk, blues, and jazz). I have authored books on each of these interests, and I hope to have overcome these addictions. The
second is my inclination to conceive new ideas that are often unrelated to my previous themes. Dreams have led me to explore various unrelated topics and questions, some of which I have
delved into for a while before eventually abandoning them, often left unsolved. Those are my excuses—I don't have a better one.

ON WITTGENSTEIN
BOOKS
Čuda džungle – Uvod u filozofiju Ludwiga Wittgensteina, (with J. Điri and Mateja Soldo) 2021, ZSEM, MATE d.o.o. (in Croatian). The book
is an introduction to Wittgenstein's philosophy. The parts include an understanding of Wittgenstein in the 21st century, the relationship between his
life and his works, an overview of some 30 central concepts and incentives to read through some 30 interesting topics of his philosophy. The book
includes a total of about 20 pages of translations of texts from Wittgenstein's works, manuscripts, lectures and letters that have not been fully or
partially translated into Croatian so far. Under the view of exegesis, it includes recent research of the last 30 years, i.e. since the last introduction to
his philosophy in the Croatian language, with special emphasis on the latest research. In addition to dealing with the classical elements of the vast
majority of Wittgenstein’s introductions, the book provides special emphasis on models, modeling, and morphology in his philosophy. Last but not
least, the book looks at the history of dealing with Wittgenstein's philosophy in Croatian philosophy and provides a fairly comprehensive list of all
translated original works and secondary literature in Croatian philosophy about Wittgenstein and his philosophy.

Custodian of Grammar, Essays in Wittgenstein’s Philosophical Morphology, 2012, University Press of America. The nature of method has
always been a topic at the very heart of western philosophical traditions, especially in the 20th century. One of the most influential philosophers of
the last century, Ludwig Wittgenstein, changed not just his philosophical standpoint at least twice in his lifetime, but the very method of studying
philosophy as well. A Custodian of Grammar discusses Wittgenstein's method in his later period, sometimes referred to as morphology. Krkac
explores this topic from the primer of morphology and proceeds to more demanding and complicated topics, such as forms of life and perspicuous
presentations. He also examines Wittgenstein's applications of his method, namely to consciousness, perception, and certainty. This book will be of
interest to Wittgenstein scholars and to students investigating various philosophical methods of philosophy from the 20th century.

Wittgenstein’s Pragmatism, 2003, Zagreb: vlastita naklada (in Croatian). The book presents the author’s Ph.D. thesis on Wittgenstein’s work
On Certainty in the context of his major works (TLP and PI) and in the context of epistemology of 20th century analytic philosophy.

PAPERS
Wittgenstein’s turn from model to modeling, (with J. Lukin) Disputatio philosophica: International Journal on Philosophy and Religion,
Vol. 23 No. 1, 2021, pp. 3-21 We present a solution to the difference between Wittgenstein’s use of model in TLP and modeling in PI, RFM and OC
by means of analysis of the difference in word choices and concept descriptions of the phenomena in his remarks. The method we used is
conceptual analysis of Wittgenstein’s treatments of scientific models and modeling. Additionally, textual analysis and textual comparison are used in
the study of his major remarks on the subject. Given the discovered difference between model and modeling and the continuity of dependence of
both concepts on the concept of picture, with the difference between picture and picturing implied, we suggest that Wittgenstein tried to incorporate
his old concept of model into the new concept of modeling. The explicated difference and incorporation contribute to the clarification of the issues of
Wittgenstein’s indirect and direct influence on philosophy of science (especially on Toulmin, Hanson, Kuhn and Feyerabend).

Wittgenstein’s four-stroke faces and the idea of visual philosophy, Wittgenstein Studien, 2020, De Gruyter. In the paper the author explores
the question did Wittgenstein (re)invent emoticons in three sub-questions. What did he draw and for which purposes? What are emoticons? Are
there similarities and differences between his drawings and emoticons? The answers are following. Wittgenstein has drawn faces from the 1930s to
14
the 1940s which are graphically and by use like emoticons. He presented a philosophical problem of interpretation of faces. Emoticons as made of
written and typed punctuation marks or as drawings were invented and used centuries before the 1930s, but common and popular use started in
the 1960s. Previous inventions were probably unknown to Wittgenstein, and his faces probably didn’t influence later inventions. His faces and
emoticons are graphically similar and made with the similar purposes. Differences are that he only used drawings and never written or typed
punctuation marks, and he used them to deal with problems of emotions and perception (similar to his problems of the duck-rabbit head). These
answers are connected to available textual and interpretative evidence, interpretations are given in propositions from (a) to (p), and summarized in
the conclusion (r). Some consequences of visual thinking on philosophical thinking are also drawn in terms of a future research.

Steadily Qubic: A Squared Odyssey: Wittgenstein’s cube–examples, Disputatio philosophica: International journal on philosophy and
religion, Vol. 21 No. 1, 2019, pp. 47-66. In the paper, the author analyzes and compares cube examples in Wittgenstein’s works, especially the
cube from TLP (TLP 1974 5.5432) and the cube from PPF (ex PI II) (PPF 2009 116). There is no direct evidence that the PPF–cube is a reaction to
the “grave mistake” of the TLP–cube. Also, there is no evidence that the TLP–cube is a representation of the Necker’s cube (1832), although it
resembles the Jastrow’s cube (1900). These are negative results. Both cubes present important ideas of TLP and PPF (PI). Also, Wittgenstein
writes that he “purposely chose” the example of the cube in PI and PPF, perhaps to show one of the “grave mistakes” of the TLP–cube. By analysis
of the Necker’s cube and comparison of drawings and accompanied text of the TLP–cube and the PPF–cube the author tries to explicate some
possible implicit pictorial aspects of Wittgenstein’s thought and of the general nature philosophical thinking as pictorial.

Review of Christian Martin (ed.), Language, Form(s) of Life, and Logic: Investigations after Wittgenstein (De Gruyter, 2019) Notre Dame
Philosophical Reviews, An Electronic Journal, 03/06/2019:1-6. This is the second volume in last 4 years and third in last 7 years that discusses
Wittgenstein and his concept of form(s) of life (FOL), all of them in different ways. The debate seems to be lively going on, and I tried to contribute
with a bit critical review of so-called Logico-linguistic reading FOL that is explicated and defended in book by Christian Martin. If you want to know
my objections read the review, and of course the book edited and contributed by Martin which is excellent.

Wittgenstein in Croatia On the occasion of 75 years of Wittgenstein in Croatian philosophy (1941–2016) Disputatio Philosophica, 19, 1,
2017:101-116. In the paper the author supplies an overview of the secondary research of Wittgenstein’s philosophy in Croatia in period 1941–2016.
It was commonly assumed that the reception of his philosophy in Croatia started in 1960 when TLP was translated, and accompanied with
substantive afterword by G. Petrović. However, the author found an earlier mention and description of Wittgenstein’s philosophy from TLP, which
appeared in 1941 in the entry “Bečki krug (Wiener Kreis)” in “Croatian Encyclopedia” and was written by Croatian philosopher Stjepan Pataki. The
entry is cited and analyzed. In addition, the author provides the list of translations of Wittgenstein’s work to Croatian, and the list of a majority of
secondary literature on Wittgenstein by Croatian philosophers in the same period.

Wittgenstein on Self – We Robots On the website Society for Advancement of Philosophy Filozofija.org, 2017, pp. 1-12. In the text the
author develops some previously researched ideas on Wittgenstein on consciousness in his later philosophy (see Krkač, Lukin 2006a, 2006b,
2012), namely in PI, and some new analysis of solipsism in his early philosophy, namely in TLP. The starting point is the identity of a quite
developed kind of a robot capable of learning, i.e. the Terminator model T-101. In previous paper (Krkač, Lukin 2012) the author developed specific
criticism on standpoint of Antti Kuusela’s paper “Wittgenstein and what’s inside the Terminator’s head” (Kuusela 2009:266-79). In the present one,
and based on criticism of Kuusela, further implications will be explicated concerning the nature of the self, particularly of solipsism in TLP and of self
in PI. In a nutshell, what is analyzed here is Wittgenstein’s form of life condition which differs, not only human self from animal or artificial selves,
but which differs particular human selves one from another as well. Nevertheless, acquisition of a particular form of life and living a life which by its
practices, routines, and culture essentially manifests the human self is problematic criterion of self for a series of reasons some of which are the
following: the criterion claims perhaps only necessary condition of the self, but not the sufficient one, the criterion is quite complex, forms of life are
in constant change.

Modeling axis by rotation (Kristijan Krkač, Josipa Điri and Josip Lukin) Majetschak S. Weiberg A. (eds.) “Aesthetics today, Contemporary
Approaches to the Aesthetics of Nature and of Art, Contributions of the 39th International Wittgenstein Symposium”. Kirchberg am
Wechsel, ALWS, 2016, pp. 57-60. In this paper, authors discuss OC 152 as an example of the idea of modeling as it is used in the contemporary
philosophy of science. In the first part, an analysis of OC 152 is supplied and three possible interpretations of the section. In the second part,
Schulte’s analysis of OC 152 is presented. In the third part, the “axis remarks” are interpreted in terms of blurring the distinction between
grammatical and experiential remarks in terms of their dynamism and connectedness to practice and activity. In the fourth part, the “axis remarks”
are interpreted in terms of “modeling” in contemporary philosophy of science.

The Primacy of Function over Structure, Analogy Reading of Wittgenstein’s “Meaning is Use” Aphorism (Nicholas Melville and Kristijan
Krkač) Synthesis Philosophica, 60 (2/2015) pp. 289–305. In the paper authors examine Wittgenstein’s standpoint “the meaning of a word is its
use in an utterance” mainly in the context of sections 23 and 43 of the Philosophical Investigations in the light of some other sections (namely 197–
199, and 209), and some influential interpretations of these passages. They claim that “meaning is use” slogan is an analogy. Additionally, partially
following Baker and Hacker 2005, authors argue that the standpoint is understandable only in the context of dependence of language-games on
forms of life (wider interpretation). Namely, meaning of a word is its use in an utterance only if the use has a place in a life. In other words, in order
to understand language-games it seems natural to observe them in their natural context of forms of life they belong to. Therefore, the claim
“meaning is use” can be understood only as an analogy or a metaphor in precisely these directions of interpretation.

How to read Ludwig Wittgenstein’s On Certainty (Kristijan Krkač and Josipa Điri), [originally in Croatian: „Kako čitati djelo L.
Wittgensteina O izvjesnosti“], Obnovljeni život, 2014, vol 69, No. 3, pp. 285-428. Jedini do sada objavljeni zbornik o Wittgensteinovom djelu O

Know-how I: Wittgenstein and practical certainty (Kristijan Krkač, Josip Lukin, and Damir Mladić) in Moyal-Sharrock D., Munz V. A.,
Coliva A. (eds.) „Mind, Language, and Action, Papers of 36th International Ludwig Wittgenstein Symposium”, Austrian Ludwig
Wittgenstein Society, Kirchberg am Wechsel, 2013, pp. 222-224. In the paper authors analyze Wittgenstein’s concept of knowledge as practical
knowledge or know-how in view of his emphasis of practical nature of certainty.

Rendezvous with fear (Kristijan Krkač, Josip Lukin, and Damir Mladić), Proceedings of 35th ALWS LW International Symposium,
Kirchberg am Wechsel, 2012 pp. 355-368. In this paper, the authors study the possibility that in some situations of human interaction with the
unknown, there is a fundamental emotion that can have two more or less mixed aspects, namely hope and fear. The following idea is hinted at by
Wittgenstein and it is further elaborated in Ridley Scott’s film “Alien”. Based on that illustration one can claim that there must be a certain aspect
change between hope and fear in many daily situations in which humans interact with something relatively unknown. Elaboration of this idea is
supported by some Wittgenstein’s passages and comments, mainly from RPP and PPO, and by some more detailed analyses and commentaries
on the emotional structure of “Alien”.

Quid pro quo, Clarice: Wittgenstein’s Multiaspectual Notion of Clarity (Synthesis Philosophica, 2011) In this paper, the author elucidates J.
R. Searle’s famous plea for clarity and L. Wittgenstein’s multi-aspectual notion of it. The concept of clarity is introduced via Searle’s plea for clarity
and the problem of it is introduced via Wittgenstein’s morphological method. An ambiguity in the concept of clarity is presented, namely the
difference between clarity as a transparency and clarity as an understanding. L. Wittgenstein’s unambiguous notion of perspicuity as seeing and
understanding is presented as a solution to the previous difference as the major source of ambiguity of the concept of clarity. Some exceptions from
clarity are presented; particularly the paradox of complete understanding without clarity. Finally, Wittgenstein’s river image from On Certainty and
explication of the image in terms of a worldview and three kinds of remarks (sentences), namely empirical, grammatical/hinge, and axes remarks
which make a presentation completely understood for practical purposes.

Wittgenstein's Dubbit III: Caught in Kirchberg am Aspekt-Wechsel (Wittgenstein Studien, 01/2010:121-51) In the paper the author examines
Wittgenstein’s examples of aspect–seeing and aspect–change (der Aspektwechsel, PI p. 195), particularly the duck-rabbit head, or abbreviated as
“the Dubbit”. The main proposal of the paper is that seeing an aspect is an issue of the philosophical morphology, and eventually of the
philosophical grammar, namely the grammar of sight (following J. Good). An argument for the proposal consists of explication of Wittgenstein’s
standpoint regarding the Dubbit. His explication consists of balanced and partial acceptance and rejection of several parts of two opposite
“theories”, namely an empiricist one, and the Gestalt one. The balanced solution itself, which says that a seeing an aspect is “half perception and
half interpretation” (following G. Baker), is introduced in order to apply morphological method in order to achieve clear descriptions regarding
perception, and finally the grammar of sight. Grammatical, or perhaps hinge propositions of the grammar of sight are suggested in the paper, but
only regarding the example of the Dubbit, such as for instance “The Dubbit consists of the following aspects…”

Philosophical Morphology (Kristijan Krkač and Josip Lukin) in: Disputatio Philosophica, (2009) pp. 3-20 In the paper authors present,
examine, and test elements of the vital idea of the philosophical morphology as a method and a technique of philosophical investigation. The paper
consists of some applications mostly concerning the method applied by L. Wittgenstein in PI and related later works, and of a series of examples
concerning daily phenomena. In the first part the philosophical morphology is explicated as a method, and in the second and in the third part basic
“commandments” of morphological technique are described and examined, namely the first one – which says that one should “look-at
exhaustively”, and the second one – which says that one should “see-as and describe synoptically”. In these parts some objections and replies to
crucial morphological ideas are provided and accompanied with examples.

Wittgenstein the Morphologist I (Kristijan Krkač and Josip Lukin) Synthesis Philosophica, 46, (2/2008) pp. 427–438 In the 1st part authors
investigate Wittgenstein as the morphologist. They explicate his notion of overview and seeing connections (PI: 122, and related texts and
commentaries) as his description of the method and they also make a few notes on authors which influenced him on this matter (Goethe and
Spengler). Besides that, they summarize some places from Wittgenstein and commentaries regarding his morphological method and some of the
obvious applications of it. The main goal is to comment on PI: 122 and GB: 133. Perspicuous presentation seems to be a conceptual investigation,
which consists in finding similarities and analogies between many, and at first glance completely different and disconnected cases (of usage of
words) which is in fact morphology as a method. In the 2nd part authors investigate Wittgenstein as the morphologist. They discuss the nature of
morphology regarding grammar, customs and institutions and try to make sense of advantages and disadvantages of morphology regarding the
method of philosophical inquiry. Acknowledging the role of morphology helps us to better understand the later Wittgenstein. It gives us perspicuous
presentation of (at least some parts) of PI. In the paper they also try to come up with an answer to few important objections to the morphological
method by quoting Wittgenstein. That which is morphologically important is organization of phenomena, their pattern which should be seen in order
to be understood. There is also the distinction within the notion of morphology, namely morphology as a method, when it is applied and the
morphology as a structure or organization, when it is explicated from the phenomena.

Forms of life as forms of culture, (Kristijan Krkač and Josip Lukin) u: H. Hrachovec, A. Pichler, J. Wang (eds.) «Philosophy and
Information Society, Proceedings of 30. International Wittgenstein Symposium», Kirchberg am Wechsel, ALWS, 2007:112-114 Članak

Članak smjerom pristaje uz struju konzervativnih wittgensteinovaca starije škole (N. Malcolm, A. Kenny, P. M. S. Hacker)
napose pod vidikom interpretacije svijesti.

PAPERS
Im Anfang war die Tat. Philosophy of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters V: Human action, Međunarodne studije / International
Studies, 2023, Vol. XXIII. No. 2, pp., 77-94. This paper formulates a series of questions about the nature of human action in the context of MSDs
(MSD = multiple simultaneous un/natural disaster). Some of these questions are likely more important than others, and it is crucial to first identify
the most significant ones that, if answered, would probably contribute to a more appropriate human action in the context of MSDs, namely, the
clarity of actions. The paper attempts to highlight the importance of human action within MSDs and the philosophical (conceptual) questions that
can contribute to such action. As for answering these questions, the paper provides only directions for the answers, while eliminating the remaining
options (using previously described model of features of human actions under an MSD, i.e. AAR = Attention, Adaptation, Response). The overall
assumption of the text is that individual human action is crucial for proper functioning under an MSDs. Firstly, paper inquires what can be said about
the subject, and then it explores the specific characteristics of human action within MSDs, and subsequently describes a possible elucidation of
such action. Based on the aforementioned points, the paper aims to express a moderate or slightly pessimistic stance regarding the description of
proper human (civilian) action within MSDs and the endeavor to make such action more suitable for the likely challenges of future MSDs. This topic
complements the previous works dealing with the philosophy of MSDs.Such approach to human action under MSDs wasn’t attempted previously
neither in philosophy of action nor in theory of disaster management, especially not under the view of MSDs.

Un/natural disasters IV: A philosophy of warning and alarming multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters, Technological Sustainability
Journal, Emerald, 2023, vol. 2. Issue 2, pp. In the article, the author describes the phenomenon of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters
(MSDs). He describes the importance and contribution of philosophy in describing MSDs warning and alarming systems. The text summarizes
topics in the philosophy of MSDs that were covered in detail in previous research in order to continue with the topic of the philosophy of MSDs
alarming and warning. A practical solution to conceptual paradoxes is researched by means of conceptual-morphological analysis. The paper
proposes a conceptual idea for MSDs alarming system which is its main topic; namely, it offers a conceptual solution to a series of practical-
conceptual paradoxes that occur before, during, and after MSDs. This is only a conceptual research, and it doesn’t deal with particular
technological solutions. The proposed solution of this research could be implemented in various warning and alarm systems. The proposed concept
of a universal alarm system for MSDs was not previously proposed.

Un/natural disasters III: Aesthetics, religion, and ethics and of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters, Sheifi, S., Crowther, D. (eds.)
(2023) Berlin: Springer. Purpose – In this paper, the author continues with developing a philosophy of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters
(MSD) in terms of the basic development of aesthetics, philosophy of religion, and ethics of MSDs. The paper is a continuation of the research from
the initial papers, namely “Un/natural disasters, Philosophy of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters” (Krkač 2022) and Un/natural disasters II,
Epistemology and ontology of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters (Krkač 2022a). Design/methodology/approach – The main issues in this
text are aesthetics, philosophy of religion, and ethics of and in multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters in terms of setting the scene. These are
being analyzed in conceptual-morphological terms. Findings – The critical finding concerned with the three mentioned aspects is the following:
concerning aesthetics that the dichotomy of disaster-ugly vs. non-disaster-beautiful doesn’t apply universally; concerning religion that it can produce
a lot of confusion and wrong beliefs and actions if misused during MSDs; and concerning ethics that morality and ethics of MSDs are determined by
concepts that are not available in traditional moral and ethical theories, namely by proper attention, adaptation, and responsiveness (AAR) of
human action before, during, and after an MSD.

Un/natural disasters II: Epistemology and ontology of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters, Međunarodne studije / International
Studies, 2022, Vol. XXII No. 1, pp. 13-39. In this paper, the author continues developing a philosophy of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters
(MSD) in terms of further development of epistemology of know-how, and the ontology of appearance/reality of such disasters, mostly in the light of
globally relevant disasters during 2021, namely floods in central China and in Germany and Belgium, wildfires in Siberia, etc. The paper is a
continuation of the research from the initial paper “Un/natural disasters, Philosophy of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters” (Krkač, 2022)
which concerns philosophy of MSDs during 2020, mostly in Croatia within the global context. The main issues in this text are epistemology and
17
ontology of and in multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters, in terms of know-how and appearance-reality distinction. These are being analyzed in
conceptual-morphological terms, the goal of which is reaching clear concepts of know-how and reality of and in MSDs which seem to have
importance for our understanding of MSDs, deciding, and acting before, in, and after them. The critical finding is concerned with the fact that
beyond global MSD hotspots, and beyond special services equipped and trained to act before, during and after MSDs, there is little understanding
of and preparedness for MSDs, globally speaking and on average. This overall lack seems to be obvious, and the clearest proofs of it are MSDs in
the period between 2020 and 2022.

Un/natural Disasters: Philosophy of Multiple Simultaneous Un/natural Disasters, Crowther, D. and Seifi, S. (Eds.) The Equal Pillars of
Sustainability (Developments in Corporate Governance and Responsibility, Vol. 17), Emerald Publishing Limited, Bingley, 2022, pp. 241-
255. The topic of the paper is a description of basic elements of the philosophy of un/natural disasters generally, and specifically basic elements of
multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters which is motivated by a series of disasters that hit Croatia all over 2020. The topic is presented in the
following way: in the first part, case of Croatia 2020 is described in short; in the second part, elements of the philosophy of un/natural disasters are
described; and based on the first and second part in the third part, the possibility of the philosophy of multiple simultaneous un/natural disasters
which seem to be applicable to the case of Croatia 2020 is described. Elements of philosophy that are described are ontology, epistemology, a
theory of action, and ethics. The purpose of the paper is to research the possibility of clarification of basic philosophical concepts in the context of
disasters, namely existence-in, appearance/reality in, knowledge-of, certainty-in, human action-in, habits-in, and morality and ethics of disasters.
Research limitations relate mostly to conceptual morphological research that hugely relies on facts of the case and on statistical and scientific data
on disasters.

Artificial Intelligence and Social Responsibility, (Krkač K, Bračević, I.) in Crowther, D. (editor in Chief) Shahla Seifi (editor) The Palgrave
Handbook of Corporate Social Responsibility, Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Verlag, Switzerland, (online 2020, print 2021). “Could a
machine think? – Could it be in pain? – Well, is the human body to be called such a machine? It surely comes as close as possible to being such a
machine.” (Wittgenstein PI: 359) The text introduces basic concepts and problems of artificial intelligence and social responsibility under the
perspective of robot ethics and machine ethics. It is composed of two sections. In section (1.) concerning the relation of artificial intelligence (further
on abbreviated as AI) and social responsibility (further on abbreviated as SR), three things are summarized, namely: basic issues surrounding the
topic (1.1.), important concepts and their relations (1.2.), and a note on the literature (1.3.). In the (2.) section three groups of issues are presented,
analyzed and discussed, namely: AI and fundamental morality and ethics in terms of SR (2.1), AI and general principles of SR (2.2.), and AI and
particular types of SR regarding particular stakeholder groups of AI and particular AI (2.3.).

Corporate Social Irresponsibility: Humans vs. Artificial Intelligence, in Social Responsibility Journal, Special Issue: Scientific and
Technological Contributions to Social Responsibility, Emerald Publishing, 2019. The supposedly radical development of artificial intelligence
(AI) has raised questions regarding the moral responsibility of it. In the sphere of business, they are translated into questions about AI and business
ethics (BE) and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This paper seeks to conceptually reformulate these questions from the point of view of two
possible aspect-changes. Namely, starting from corporate social irresponsibility (CSI), and starting not from AIs incapability for responsibility but
from its ability to imitate human CSR without performing typical human CSI. The author draws upon the literature and his previous works on the
relationship between AI and human CSI. This comparison aims to remodel the understanding of human CSI and AIs inability e CSI. The conceptual
remodelling is offered by taking a negative view on the relation. If AI can be made not to perform human-like CSI, then AI is at least less CSI than
humans. For this task it is necessary to remodel human and AI CSR, but AI does not have to be CSR. It is sufficient that it can be less CSI than
humans in order to be more CSR. The previously suggested remodelling of basic concepts in question leads to the conclusion that it is not
impossible for AI to act or operate more CSI then humans simply by not making typical human CSIs. Strictly speaking, AI is not CSR because it
cannot be responsible as humans can. If it can perform actions with a significantly lesser amount of CSI in comparison to humans, it is certainly
less CSI. This paper is only a conceptual remodelling and a suggestion of a research hypothesis. As such it implies particular morality, ethics and
the concepts of CSI and AI. How this remodelling could be done in practice is an issue of future research. The author delivers the paper on
comparison between human and AI CSI which isn’t much discussed in literature.

Teaching business ethics in transitional cultures An example of practice at Zagreb School of Economics and Management, (Krkač K.,
Jalšenjak B.) in Stachowicz-Stanusch A., Amann G., Amann A. (eds.) “Management Education for Corporate Social Performance”,
Charlotte, NC: Information Age Publishing, 2018:33-51. The purpose of the paper is to compare some permanent theoretical debates with
practices of teaching business ethics course at business schools in transitional cultures. Some of these practices are: describing values in class,
showing how various values are essentially manifested in every core business, teaching how to reach practical decisions in proper, clear, quick and
transparent manner and measuring entrance and exit students’ know-that and know-how shows at least some positive trends.
Design/methodology/approach – A blend of theoretical review and a case study which reflects the theory. Findings – Some issue concerning the
practice of teaching business ethics can be solved within practice itself, while other need careful explication of the practice of teaching and various
corrections. Research limitations/implications – The paper is aimed at quite particular issue of introducing business ethics course at private
business schools in transforming societies (with the example of private business school, Zagreb School of Economics, from Croatia) which is a
limitation by all means, yet some lessons can be drawn for schools in similar situation. Practical implications – Improving business ethics and
corporate social responsibility course syllabus and elements of teaching process. Originality/value – Pragmatist approach to teaching values in
business ethics course. Keywords – business ethics syllabus elements, elements of the process of learning business ethics, know-that and know-
how in business ethics, measuring students’ entrance and exit, teaching business ethics, ZSEM.

A Bridge Too Far: Abraham Maslow’s Bridging the Is-Ought Gap (Borna Jalšenjak and Kristijan Krkač) International Journal of Digital
technology & Economy Volume 1, Number 2, 2016, pp. 75-84. In this paper the authors argue for creation of management practices based on
several facts about human beings. This is done by stating bridge propositions between what is found to be (facts), and what ought to be done
(oughts). They attempt to justify that it is not too big of a gap. Contrariwise, not bridging it has serious consequences for any business enterprise.
Concerning the Is-Ought Gap, Maslow implicitly claims something like “Don’t Mind the Gap”, because there is not one.

Corporate Social Responsibility in Croatia (Kristijan Krkač, Petra Eterović, and Borna Jalšenjak) in S. O. Idowu, R. Schmidpeter, M. S.
Fifka (eds.) „Corporate Social Responsibility in Europe, United in Sustainable Diversity“, Springer International Publishing, Switzerland,
Heidelberg, 2015, pp. 231-243. In this entry the following issues are addressed: (1) the historical development of CSR in Croatia from
Renaissance times, the Croatian philosopher Benedikt Kotruljević until 2010, and contemporary theory and practice of CSR by companies, Higher
18
Education Institutions (HEIs), state agencies, professional societies and civic movements (such as CSR Croatia or DOP.HR); (2) a series of the
most important initiatives to promote CSR in Croatia; (3) a note on specific socio-economic factors contributing to the present state of CSR in
Croatia, namely specific market structures, the Roman Catholic church, unions, media, and especially civic societies (associations like
Whistleblower or Consumer); (4) the practice of CSR by leading Croatian companies in terms of explicating various CSR models and strategies
(that range from obviously deceptive CSR to real CSR strategically implemented and practiced on a daily basis) in terms of understanding the
phenomenon and the practices of CSR, strategic implementation, real day-to-day practice, and the measuring and presenting of results of such
implementation and practice; (5) based on the analysis of history and its relevance to the present state of CSR in Croatia, some notes on its most
probable development of CSR and some recommendations on how to implement and promote it more authentically are supplied. The text should
be useful to academics researching CSR in the EU on national and EU levels and also to businesspeople from Croatia and those from abroad
starting in Croatia.

Acquiring CSR practices: From deception to authenticity (K. Krkač, J. Debeljak, and I. Bušljeta Banks) in Social Responsibility Journal
(SRJ), VOL. 7, NO. 1, pp. 5-22, 2011, Emerald, (SRJ) (original scientific paper) This paper seeks to focus on CSR manifested regarding two
points, namely CSR insincerity and authenticity from the point of view of pragmatist and care ethics principles. Its purpose is to evaluate critically
the genuineness of the early stages in acquiring CSR practices, and to advance the notion of authenticity in its mature development stage. The
analyses seek to show an imbalance between the so-called feminine and masculine principles in the professional business arena, which prevents
an authentic CSR business approach taking place. The authors approach the topic from various concepts and criteria of moral correctness
regarding CSR, and crucial change points in the transient process from insincere to authentic CSR. The paper identifies some elements of
insincere CSR in every company in its early stages of acquiring CSR practices, especially in the early stages of the development of the business
culture, and also during the maturing process. The paper demonstrates the excessive significance of the rapid development of CSR sensibility in
society and in the business community because, in such situations, knowledge of all affected parties prevents business subjects from misdirection
and forces them to choose between lying and telling the truth. The paper demonstrates a business-based rationale for the adoption of mature, non-
deceptive CSR practices, since the overall situation in the business community and in society becomes clearer regarding criteria.

Me, myself & I, practical egoism, selfishness, self-interest and business ethics, (K. Krkač and J. Debeljak) in „Social Responsibility
Journal, A Special Issue: Ethics and Morality in Business Practice”, London, co-edited with J. Debeljak, volume 4, number 1/2, 2008:217-
228 U tekstu suautori Jelena Debeljak i Kristijan Krkač istražuju “mit” i “retoriku” tzv. prosvijećenog egoizma reducirajući ga na njegov jednostavniji i
stroži oblik kojem upućuju dvije objekcije, tj. ontološku i epistemološku koje povlače da je jednostavni egoizam u stvari moralni solipsizam. Uz to
nastoje pokazati da je i pokušaj opravdanja egoizma kao temeljnog motiva poslovanja ili kao racionalizacije određenih egoističnih oblika ponašanja
u poslovanju također nemoguće jer pretpostavlja ono što želi pokazati.

Change Management and CSR: An Essay in the Ontology and Business Ethics of Change / Process management (K. Krkač and J.
Debeljak) in D. Crowther and N. Capaldi (eds.) “The Ashgate Research Companion to Corporate Social Responsibility”, Ashgate,
Aldershot, 2008:231-249 U tekstu koautori raspravljaju suvremenu temu menadžmenta promjene u kontekstu menadžmenta procesa, društvene
odgovornosti i etike brige.
društvenu odgovornost tvrtki u kontekstu teorije i prakse interesnih dionika (stakeholder theory).

svijetu. Uz to postavljaju opće mjerilo ne/brige i primjenjuju ga na CSR u kontekstu a) feminističke filozofije, tj. ženskog konteksta u poslovanju i b)
pro-socijalnog ponašanja, c) etike brige i mobinga u RH.

The Role of Culture in European Business, Ethics, and Business Ethics (K. Krkač and J. Debeljak), in: Dj. Njavro and K. Krkač (eds.)
„Business Ethics and Corporate Social responsibility“, MATE d.o.o., Zagreb, 2006, pp.191-199. In the paper the authors clarify the relation
between business (European), business ethics, and business culture. They identify various different European clusters of business and business
culture, and accordingly of business culture. In this map they try to position the ongoing development of business ethics in Croatia as soon to be a
part of EU.
