Metabolic syndrome.

Current understanding of the pathophysiology

Risk factors:
- Hypertension
- Hyperglycemia
- Dyslipidemia
- Abdominal obesity

Untreaded syndrome will cause:

- Risk for diabetes II
- Cardiovascular disease
- Kidney disease
- Premature mortality

Diagnostic criteria international diabetes federation (IDF)

Elevated waist circumference Abdominal obesity 94cm h y 80cm m
Raised tryglicerids
Reduced HDL cholesterol
Raised blood pressure
Raised fasting glucose in the plasma

Additional metabolic measurements for research:

- Abnormal body fat distribution
- Atherogenic dyslipidemia (high tryglicerid and low HDL)
- Dysglicaemia
- Insuline resistance
- Vascular dysregulation
- Proinflammatory state
- Prothrombotic state
- Hormonal factors

High volumes of glucose will make the blood more dense and peripherical clots will be
formed

Trate good the condition good screening

Pathophysiology
- Adipokines
