Prostrate Head Pads (Disposable) / 1101-14

Features
The pad is ergonomically designed for supporting patient in prostrate position. With Acrylic reflecting
mirror, clinical staff will monitor intubation and airway passage of patient on an ongoing basis. The
pad is X-ray through and Latex free.

Directions for Use

★ Remove protective film from mirror.
★ Adjust mirror to ensure optimal view of patient's face when in prostrate position.
★ Intubate patient in the supine position.
★ Place Prostrate Head Pad over patient's face and introduce tubes through lateralopening on the
pad.
★ Hold Pad firmly against patient's face whilst turning patient into the prostrate position.
★ Place Prostrate Head Pad centrally on mirror.
★ Check that patient's face rests properly on the pad and ensure no pressure on eyebrow bone and
no touching of patient's nose on mirror.
★ Confirm that patient's body is in neutral position.
★ Continually check for correct intubation and clear airway passage during surgery process.

Zero Pressure on Legs, perfect protection of peroneal nerves.

The unique design of protecting wings of Strirrups eliminates the potential damage to peroneal nerves,
and greatly reduces pressure on calves. In high degree of lithotomy surgeries, the protecting wings will
efficiently protect patients’ knees. Without the protection, the knees will tend to drop outward and
downward, causing stretching of groin and lumbar muscles.

All Direction Adjustment

Easy and complete control of lithotomy and abduction, enlarging operation vision field. Even during
operation, clinical staff can easily reposition or adjust the legs in a sterile state.

Easy, Safe and Accurate Adjustment

Power-assisted stirrups will make it extremely easy to adjust legs to desired position. The unique
design of protecting wings will help to reduce pressure on popliteal fossa and gastrocnemius muscle.
In the positioning of stirrups, the boots will automatically adjust to reduce pressure on gastrocnemius
muscle. Foot, ankle and calf will be fully wrapped in the protective pad. Positioning angles will be
accurately indicated.

Cleaning and Disinfection：

★ After each usage, clean and disinfect the Stirrups by wiping before storage or second use.
★ Apply equipment cleaners and disinfectants which are commonly applied in hospitals to clean
and disinfect the Stirrups.
(Please follow the instructions of the manufacturer of cleanser and disinfectant.)
★ Dry up the stirrups with clean cotton cloth.
★ Gas sterilization, autoclaving, washing machine, dryer or soaking in disinfectants are NOT
recommended.

Precautions
★ Please handle with care；
★ Avoid direct contact with hard or sharp objects；
★ Avoid cleaning the pad surface with strong corrosive disinfectants or cleaning agents.
Iodine based agents should be avoided；
★ Keep the pads flat in storage, avoid direct sunlight and dust；
★ Keep the pads away from ultraviolet lights；
★ For lateral and prostrate surgeries, one layer of operation sheet is recommended over the
pads to keep patient more comfortable；
★ Do not roughly push the pads underneath the patient. Make sure that the pad surface
underneath the patient is smooth；
★ Please read User’s Guide carefully before use；
★ For prolonged surgeries (especially prostrate surgeries), relax the areas prone to pressure
ulcer for 5-10 minutes in every 3 hours.

Contraindications
★ Skin hurts or injuries that should be breathable；
★ Patients allergic to polymer material；
★ Overweight patients in prostrate surgeries.

Cleaning and Disinfection

★ The viscoelastic polymer gel pads and positioners are water proof. The filth on the surface
can be cleaned away with clear water or cleanser, alcohol can be applied；
★ Strong corrosive disinfectants such as Iodine should be avoided；
★ Avoid high temperature and high pressure disinfection or fumigating；
★ Gas sterilization, autoclaving, washing machine, dryer or pro-longed soaking in
disinfectants are NOT recommended；
★ Do not sterilize the pads with ultraviolet radiation.

The viscoelastic polymer gel pads can well distribute weight and pressure, and help to prevent
pressure ulcer and bedsores. But the pads are not the sole strategy for the prevention of pressure
ulcer and bedsores.

“...In the process of surgery, the positioning of patients depends on among other factors, the practical
requirements of surgery (e.g. operation length), the physical conditions of patient, the particular
body parts of patient under pressure.
Proper positioning pads should be used.
Nursing staff should carefully monitor the blood circulation of patients during surgery.
For prolonged surgery, if possible, relax and massage the areas under pressure to prevent from
pressure ulcer...”
