Drylining / drywalling / plasterboard cladding
- interior wall cladding where the facing consists mostly of large rigid
sheets, mechanically anchored to the substrate directly or with an
intermediary frame fixed to the substructure, avoiding the use of
mortar or plaster.

- Semi-finite surfaces to cover walls and ceilings, to be further

finished with thin coatings/paints/wallpaper etc.
- Less time on the building site than mortar plastering – no
more waiting for the mortar to cure, quick mechanical fixing

Gypsum board, gypsum plasterboard panels = a
thin layer of gypsum plaster cast between
paper/cardboard surfacing (12.5 mm
thickness):
- fixed with mortar or screw-fixed to a frame
Each company product comes with clear specifications of fixing: how much
mortar on the back/how many screws to fix the boards to the frame behind etc. 3

Less time required than traditional “wet” renders;
convenient on a fragmented/unlevelled wall.
May be finished with thin coatings: decorative
plaster, paints, wallpapers, thin tiles and
adhesive…
The surface of the plasterboard is not supposed to
be rendered/covered with plaster coatings!

the plasterboard sheets; repairing thin cracks and/or
holes with a fine paste/jointing compound – to prepare
the surfaces for the final finish

space for insulation if needed, to resurface a wall or a ceiling.
