You can use the charts to reference your notes and scale
degrees. If you want to run your scales, then follow the
practice guide below the chart. These have you playing the
scale from the root note, up to the high octave, and then
back down.

-# = Draw
# = Blow
-#’ = Draw Bend (each ‘ represents Examples:
a half step) -2’’ = 2 whole step draw bend
#’ = Blow Bend 4 = 4 blow
#* = Overblow/Overdraw 6* = 6 overblow
Notes in red are the root note of the scale.
Notes in purple are difficult notes for advanced players.
(If you can’t overblow/blow bend with accuracy, then skip these.)
The first row of every chart states the note (on a C harmonica) and the
associated scale degree.
Also, the practice guides will omit any very difficult (purple) notes.
