1. Describe any four methods of teaching other than demonstration within the
heuristic and expository spectrum that you can use in teaching one area of
specialization. (10 Marks)

a) Field trip/excursion In this method the learners visit place of educational
value such as museum, airport, etc for learning

b) Project method - In this method, the learner is expected to carry out a project
to solve a defined problem or achieve a set goal

c) Experimental/discovery method Also referred to as enquiry or problem-based


learning. the teacher plays the role of a facilitator while the learner is actively
involved in the learning experiences

e) Discussion method – The learners can be grouped in small groups so that they
can discuss and exchange ideas and opinions.

2. Identify and explain the characteristics of an effective classroom teacher.
