 The Humber International Graduate School (IGS) offers a variety of
graduate programs tailored specifically to international graduate
students to ensure successful transition to learning and working in

THE HUMBER INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE SCHOOL (IGS) EXPERIENCE:

NORTH CAMPUS
Humber North is a complete community
with everything you need right on
campus. Our 264,000 square foot
Learning Resource Commons (LRC)
houses student learning and support
services. The North Campus
International Centre is located on the
2nd floor of the LRC.
North campus also offers residence
rooms for over 1,000 students,
restaurants, bookstore, day care
facilities, student pub, full athletic
centre and spa.
LAKESHORE CAMPUS
Just west of downtown Toronto,
Humber Lakeshore combines beautiful
lakefront parkland and historic
buildings with high-tech classrooms,
student computer labs, food service
outlets, on-campus residence, student
centre, athletic facility, bookstore and
$11-million library. Lakeshore’s
Learning Commons was designed with
students in mind. The Lakeshore
International Centre is located in

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE SCHOOL
(IGS)
Located in the core of Toronto's
financial and technology district, the
IGS is Humber's newest state-of-the-
art technology, collaborative
classrooms and custom-designed
curriculum focused on connecting
graduate students with business and

OBTAINING A STUDY PERMIT AND
TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA
Most international students who
study at Humber College require
a Study Permit as well as a Temporary
Resident Visa or Electronic Travel
Authorization (eTA).
WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
You should apply as soon as you receive
your Letter of Acceptance. The time
required to process an application to
study in Canada may vary at different
visa offices. In some countries the
processing time may take up to 4

WHICH PROGRAMS DO NOT
REQUIRE A STUDY PERMIT
Any program of study that will be
completed within six months or less, and
within the period of your stay authorized
upon entry to Canada, does not require a
Study Permit. If your program of study is
six months or less but you intend to
continue your studies in another program
you should apply for a Study Permit before
coming to Canada.

Applications should be submitted online
and by paper format if necessary. If you

WHAT IF I AM ALREADY
IN CANADA?
If you are already in Canada as a visitor or
a worker you can apply for a study permit
while residing in Canada. Follow the
directions on the IRCC site to determine
whether you can submit an online or paper
application.
If you currently hold a study permit for
secondary school studies, you don’t need
to change or apply for a new permit if your
current study permit is still valid. If your
study permit will expire, you need to apply
to extend it.

UNITED STATES VISA
If you plan to travel through the United
States on your way to Canada, you may
require a transit visa to enter the United
States. For further information please
check the U.S. Department of State
website: travel.state.gov
UPON ARRIVAL AT HUMBER
It is important that you attend the
first week of classes. Humber cannot
provide extensions for late arrivals;
you must be registered and attending
classes by the fifth (5th) day of classes.
If you do not receive your study permit
in time to begin classes by the 5th day
then we suggest you defer your start date
to a later term. Students are not allowed
to be in Canada unless they are actively
studying. We encourage students to attend
orientation (see page 9) and the first day
of class as it helps with classroom
orientation and academic success.
You must visit the International Centre
when you arrive so that we may assist in
getting you settled at Humber.
To register for your classes it is mandatory
that you provide us with a copy of your
study permit. For students arriving from
overseas please upload your Letter of
Introduction issued by the visa office.
At the border, your will be issued your
permit; upload a copy to replace the
introduction letter. For students who
already hold a study permit, please
upload a copy of the document. These
documents should be uploaded to your
MyHumber account.

WHAT WILL IT COST TO STUDY
AT HUMBER?
After you have confirmed your offer of
admission by the date referenced in your
Letter of Acceptance (LOA), log into
humber.ca/myhumber to view and print your
invoice. For a list of other costs please refer

HOW TO PAY YOUR FEES
Your Humber fees include your tuition and
incidental fees. Incidental fees support your
international medical plan, student activities,
campus athletics, facility upgrades and other
college services.
The payment must be received by the due
date indicated on the Letter of Acceptance.
Payment by this date ensures your seat in
your selected program. If you miss the fee
payment deadline, you will lose your seat.
Students must have confirmed their offer of
admission according to the date on their
Letter of Acceptance to reserve their seat in
the program and be able to view their
invoice.
Humber College's online payment platform
Flywire offers bank transfer, credit card and
online payment options. Flywire also enables
you to pay your tuition in your home
currency, track the status of your payment,

depending on whether your fee payments
are being made from inside or outside of

FEE RECEIPTS
You may view and download your official
fee receipt through MyHumber.ca. This
receipt should be used for bank loans and
as proof of your tuition payment for
Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship
Canada. This receipt will reflect your new
semester start date if you defer your start
date to a later semester. If a payment is
made through Flywire, please refer to your
Flywire account for an official receipt.
REFUNDS**
1. If you have not received a decision
on your study permit application,
or are unable to attend classes by
the fifth (5th) day of class*, you
must notify the International Centre before
the tenth (10th) official day
of the semester in writing in order
to be eligible for a refund. You
will be charged a $1,000 CAD
administration fee (or $500 for English for
Academic Purposes students).
If Canadian Immigration denies your visa/
study permit then you will be charged a
$200 CAD administration fee. You must
include documented proof from Canadian
Immigration that the visa/study permit was
denied. Please scan the visa/study permit
denial letter and attach it with your email
request for a refund to
international.humber.ca/contact
* All students should attend Orientation (both Academic
and International) and the first day of class. Students are
eligible to begin classes up until the 5th day of class.
** The refund policies are subject to change without
prior notice.
ALL REFUND REQUESTS MUST BE
SUBMITTED BY THE TENTH (10th)

Any requests received beyond this date will
be denied. No exceptions to the refund

2. If you receive your visa denial too late to
submit it with your refund request (by the
tenth (10th) day of the semester) then you
may submit a second refund request for
the administration fee ($1,000 CAD for
academic full-time programs, $500 CAD
for English for Academic Purposes). This
request must be received no later than the
first day of classes of the following
semester.
Refund of fees paid by credit card will be
returned to the original credit card.
Refund of fees paid by web banking from
a Canadian account will be returned by
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) back to the
original sender
Refund of fees transferred from another
educational institution will be returned to
the same institution
Refund of fees paid via Flywire will be
returned to Flywire and then Flywire will
return those funds to the original method
of payment
3. You may transfer your tuition fees for up
to two consecutive terms (8 months) for
academic programs and (4 months) for
EAP programs, provided you make the
request prior to the 10th day of classes.
After two deferrals, tuition will no longer
be deferred and the administration fee of
$1,000 CAD for academic programs or
$500 CAD for the English for Academic
Purposes program will not be refunded.

on a first-come, first-served basis, so

A non-refundable residence deposit of
$500 CAD will be requested after you
submit your application form. If a room is
not available, you will be placed on a
waiting list and you will be notified if a

SCHOLARSHIP
INTERNATIONAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
Limited entrance scholarships are available for international students beginning their first semester of studies in Humber's graduate certificate,
advanced diploma and diploma programs in any academic semester (September, January and May). Students who are approved to receive these
scholarships will receive a total of $2,000 CAD off of their tuition fees over the course of their first two semesters of study. Further details cans be

BACHELOR’S DEGREE SCHOLARSHIPS

Bachelor’s Degree scholarships are available to students coming directly from high school/secondary school studies (within one calendar year
of graduation), who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven’t attended college or university, or studied in a language program), and are unlimited
in quantity. Humber awards degree scholarships automatically to graduating high school students based on academic achievement.
No application is required.

Public health guidelines and Humber’s
Health Centre strongly recommend
the following immunization for all adults:
COVID-19 (MANDATORY):
Individuals coming to campus (including
residence) are required to be fully
vaccinated for COVID-19 with a vaccine
approved by Health Canada or the WHO
unless they are granted an exemption. All
students are required to declare their
COVID-19 vaccination status, and
subsequently to provide proof of

IMMUNIZATIONS
TETANUS-DIPHTHERIA:
It is recommended you get this shot every
10 years. If you are due for a Tetanus
shot, it is suggested you receive Adacel,
a vaccine that protects you from tetanus,
diphtheria (reparatory tract illness) and
Pertussis (whooping cough). The Tetanus
shot is available at the Health Centre.
Individuals coming to campus are

MEASLES, MUMPS, AND RUBELLA:
Shot required after first birthday, plus
one booster.
POLIO:
Primary series (Five doses during
childhood).
MENINGITIS:
Routine for students 19 years and under.
Highly recommended for all students in
residence
VARICELLA (CHICKEN POX
VACCINE):
Highly recommended for students who
have never had chicken pox. If this illness
is contracted by adults, it can be severe.
The vaccine is available at the Health
Centre at a reduced cost of $80 per
injection. Your student health plan covers
80 per cent of the cost. Two doses of the
vaccine are required
INFLUENZA:
Highly recommended as the flu virus
spreads rapidly through campuses. The flu
is more serious than a cold. You can be
sick for 3-5 days; however, you may not
fully recover for several weeks. You can
protect yourself by receiving a yearly flu
shot. The vaccine is usually available on
campus in October/November. Check with
Health Centre staff for dates.
