My PHD Studies and my Scientific Research

Good day, dear audience! I would like to present my talk on "My PhD Studies and
Scientific Research".

This slide shows the structure of my presentation.

This year, by the decision of the academic council, I enrolled in a postgraduate
program at Sumy State University in "Applied Physics and Nanomaterials". I
passed two entrance exams – in English and in my specialty. The University ranks
6th among 200 universities in Ukraine. Over 12,000 students study. There are 57
specializations across 24 fields of study. The University also has a substantial
number of international students. The teaching staff includes about 150 Doctors of
Sciences, Professors, and approximately 550 PhDs and Candidates of Sciences,
Associate Professors. I would like to add that around 800 individuals are enrolled
that people study in 16 specialties of doctoral studies and 22 postgraduate studies.
Sumy State University collaborates with over 300 partners from 60 countries
worldwide.

So, now I am a first-year postgraduate student at SSU, attached to the
Department of Electronics and Computer Technology. This is not my first
acquaintance with this department, as I entered the Bachelor's program in
"Telecommunications and Radio Engineering" in 2017, and later graduated with a
Master's degree in "Electronic Systems and Components" from the same
department. The department has a research group "Research of nanoelectronics
materials" under the leadership of the head of the department. During my graduate
studies, I will help with research on A 2B6 (semiconductors) compounds and solid
solutions based on them.

For precise and clear research execution, I work closely with my academic
supervisor, Oleksandr Dobrozhan, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical
Sciences, Associate Professor. Hirsch index: 15. Research focus: The impact of
physico-chemical conditions during the 3D printing process on nano-crystalline
film layers of semiconductor compounds for use in photo- and thermoelectric
converters. Honors and Awards: 2021-2022: Scholarship of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists. The main scientific publications are
presented on the slide.

The dissertation's title is "SINGLE AND MULTILAYER STRUCTURES
BASED ON NANOCRYSTALLINE FILMS OF ZnMgO:Al(Cu), CuSnS:Ni FOR
THIN-FILM PHOTOCONVERTERS". The aim of the work is to investigate the
influence of physico-technological conditions on the formation of functional layers
of these compounds on their structural, sub-structural, optical properties, and
elemental composition for use in thin-film photoconverters.
Слайд 7
The research object is the phase and structure formation processes in films
based on oxide and kesterite compounds, applied via 3D printing, and their impact
on the optical and photoluminescent characteristics of the samples.
Слайд 8
The main tasks for the near future are to establish parameters for the synthesis of
semiconductor nanoparticles based on theoretical calculations and to investigate
their morphology, structure, optical characteristics, electrophysical properties, and
elemental composition.
The 3D printing method in the dissertation is considered as a promising chemical
method for obtaining thin-film photoconverters. The application of thin films will
be done using inkjet printing. This method is based on the extrusion of inks from
an extruder and their deposition on a substrate. Successive thin film layers form a
solar cell, which is the final stage of the dissertation.
