Common mistakes: arrive to

'Arrive' is a bit of a strange verb in English. Even though we say 'come to', 'go to' and 'get to', we say
'arrive in' or 'arrive at'. We never say 'arrive to somewhere'. ('Get to' means the same as 'arrive'.) We
use 'at' with buildings and 'in' with cities and countries. Here are some examples.

• I arrived at the airport.

• I went to the airport.
• I got to the airport.

• She arrived in London.

• She went to London.
• She got to London.

• They arrived in Brazil.

• They went to Brazil.
• They got to Brazil.
