2) Interchange method
Interchange method means verifying whether the original component is defective by exchanging a
new component to test its function.
3) Battery boost method
For the battery without cosmetic defect (such as scratches, wrinkle, blurred logo…) but with power on
failure, please refer to following guidance to activate it (Battery boost method).
Step 1: Check the battery voltage value by using multimeter and then do diagnose upon the testing result.

Step 2: Connect <battery boost jig> to a power supply in the correct polarity (“+” to “+”; “-” to “-”); set DC
power to 3.6V first, assemble the battery on an appropriate battery connector in the correct polarity
(“+” to “+”; “-” to “-”) and adjust the power voltage to ensure charging voltage & current are in safe
range as below.
The maximum charging current should

be ≤ battery capacity*0.2C

be ≤ charging limit voltage

Note: For battery capacity and Charging limit voltage value, please refer to battery part (Accessory
chapter) in L1/L2 repair document and adjust the Power supply value in safe range.

Step 3: Wait about 15 minutes, separate the battery from <battery boost jig> and check the battery
voltage value as step 1, then diagnose upon the 2nd battery voltage as below.

4) PCBA power consumption check method
In order to improve the power consumption of a device, we can check the power consumption of the device
by simulating a battery using power supply as follows:
Step 1. Please prepare a battery connector assembly and a standard power supply cables as shown in the
picture below;

Note: You can find the battery connector assembly inside a battery ready to be scrapped.
Step 2. Set the voltage of the power supply at 4.0V, connect the battery connector assembly to the device
and power supply (Keep the mobile on switch off mode).
Step 3. Read the consumption of the device on power supply.
